Literature is the medium in which memory can be constructed, thematised and transmitted. The subject of analysis in this paper is memory of communism in Macedonian novel Time of Goats by Luan Starova ...(1993). In the novel emphasis is on a subjective and confessional perspective which is framed by the vow of allegorism. It contemplates the historical context of Tito' s disengagement with Stalin and the attempt to create a new working class as the main driver of social and economic development in afterwar Yugoslavia.
The article analyzes the concept of intensity promoted in late capitalism, and its difference from the teleological intensity of the countercultural sixties. Intensity is approached through ...psychoanalytic lenses as related to Freud’s drive theory, and to Lacan’s concept of jouissance. Counter-depressive intensity persists today devoid of any meaning, as it is a self-legitimating strategy of the most perfect and best conformed capitalist subject. The notion of the culture of intensity covers the natural privileging of late capitalism towards ‘the good intense.’ This paper analyzes its reverse: ‘the bad intense,’ and the tragedy of dysphoria. The movie Shame (2011), directed by Steve McQueen, is interpreted as an example of the transformation of the countercultural value of sexuality in the sixties to its mere reduction to both intense and numbing experience.
Već je Ivo Frangeš zamijetio da se književni opus Vjenceslava Novaka može podijeliti u nekoliko krugova te ih je izdvojio na temelju tematskoga kriterija. Tako prvi čine Senj i njegovi problemi te ...društveni procesi; drugi čini senjska okolica ili Podgorje; treći se odnosi na građanski kontekst Senja i Zagreba, a četvrti na svijet obespravljenih urbanih masa u Zagrebu i Senju. Već iz ove podjele naslućuje se mogućnost drugačijega sagledavanja Novaka opusa: na temelju prostora, pa stoga možemo govoriti o Senju, Zagrebu i Podgorju kao glavnim toposima. Roman Podgorka Vjenceslava Novaka, kako i sam naslov upućuje, u tom bi kontekstu ulazio u domenu autorova stvaralaštva koja se bavi prostorom i problematikom Podgorja. Cilj izlaganja je povezati koncept književne geografije s modusom romanse.
Sagledavat će se književna konstrukcija prostora te njezina isprepletenost s društvenom konstrukcijom prostora. Razmotrit će se kako su prostorne odrednice dovedene u vezu sa Sojinim konceptom thirdspace te modusom romanse kao primarnim oblikom organiziranja naracije.
The paper examines the memoir The Book of My Lives by Bosnian-American writer Aleksandar Hemon. This non-fiction work explores the author’s childhood in the capital of Bosnia and Herzegovina before ...the collapse of Yugoslavia, and then his exile experience in Canada and the United States after the outbreak of the war. Through the prism of memory, the book deals with the subject of exiles, uprootedness and efforts to start a new life in a new environment. Being an autobiographical record, The Book of My Lives lends itself to the examination of the issue of exile and memory issues, which is one of the two themes of this paper. The second concerns the understanding of the relationship between memory and space. The paper seeks to show how the spatial dimension is also important for the creation of memory because memories represent an essential factor for the transformation of abstract space into a particular place.

A psychoanalitic aspect of the novel Tito Dorčić written by Vjenceslav ...Novak, is a complex issue of narcissism and narcissistic self, which will be discussed in this paper in the context of Kohut's self psychology and his settings on the grandiose self and idealized parental figure. The formation of the self begins through the subject's pre-Oedipal and Oedipal relations with the people he/she was in the most direct interaction, which means the father and the mother, and in our case, especially his father because the mother is reduced to a passive and muted feminine principle. Therefore, the relationship of family Dorčić against their class and other classes as well as their position in the social movement and dynamism have a direct impact on the principles of education; and a problem of narcissism is closely associated with the family and social interaction.
The main goal of the paper is, based on research and analysis of the material base and tourist turnover of rural tourist households (RTHs), in the period from 2014 to 2019, to point out to the ...dynamics of development and the current level of development and utilization of the tourist offer of this sector in Serbia. Quantitative data on accommodation facilities in rural areas of the Republic of Serbia in six years period (2014-2019) are analyzed. In addition to research, various scientific methods were used: the inductive-deductive method, the method of analysis and synthesis and the method of observation. Based on the analysis of quantitative and qualitative aspects of supply it was concluded that a lack of international standards and quality guarantees was noticed, as well as problems related to adaptation, registration and categorization of the RTHs, which confirmed the basic research hypothesis.
Pulmonary arteriovenous malformation (PAVM) is a rare clinical condition with abnormal direct communication between the branches of pulmonary artery and vein. It may occur as an isolated anomaly or ...in association with hereditary hemorrhagic telangiectasia (HHT). Although these vascular pulmonary pathologies are quite uncommon, they are the important part of the differential diagnosis of common pulmonary problems such as hypoxemia and pulmonary nodules. The diagnosis of PAVM in patients remains a diagnostic challenge to the emergency physician. The most common clinical signs of PAVM are recurrent episodes of epistaxis and hemoptysis, so surgical resection is deemed the best curative option to avoid further episodes and recurrence of hemoptysis. Quite often the diagnosis is established after pathohistological examinations. We report a case of a female patient with a massive recurrent hemoptysis and without pathologic radiological findings which would suggest to PAVM and who was successfully treated with lobectomy.
The main aim of this paper is to perform efficiency and productivity analysis of Universal Service Obligation (USO) based on the Malmquist Productivity Indices (MPI) analysis. The study focuses on 29 ...Designated Operators (DOs) and two isolated periods, the years 2003 and 2017. There is a clear trend of workforce reduction (12%). Considering the postal services, the data confirm a general trend that the letter-post is in decline (30%) and the parcels are on the rise (52%). Considering the financial results, both costs and revenues are increased; however, there is a higher increase of revenue (33.13%) compared to the cost (32.61%). Further, the results of implemented methodology are twofold. Firstly, a progress is determined at the average level of all observed DOs according to the efficiency and productivity indicators. Among other, the results indicate the increase of productivity for both input MPI (3.5%) and output MPI (8%). However, there are significant variations of efficiency and productivity at the individual level. Secondly, the aim of research was also to examine the sources of productivity changes by considering postal market liberalization, ownership, marketing services and e-commerce. Our findings show that the last three specified variables contribute to the explanation of productivity change.
