Young lung cancer as a small subgroup of lung cancer has not been fully studied. Most of the previous studies focused on the clinicopathological features, but studies of molecular characteristics are ...still few and limited. Here, we explore the characteristics of prognosis and variation in young lung cancer patients with NSCLC.
A total of 5639 young lung cancer samples (NSCLC, age ≤40) were screened from the SEER and the same number of the old (NSCLC, age ≥60) were screened by propensity score matching to evaluate the prognosis of two groups. 165 treatment-naïve patients diagnosed with NSCLC were enrolled to explore the molecular feature difference between two age-varying groups. CCLE cell line expression data was used to verify the finding from the cohort of 165 patients.
The overall survival of the young lung cancer group was significantly better than the old. Germline analysis showed a trend that the young group contained a higher incidence of germline alterations. The TMB of the young group was lower. Meanwhile, the heterogeneity and evolutionary degrees of the young lung cancer group were also lower than the old. The mutation spectrums of two groups exhibited variance with
mutations, EGFR L858R more recurrent in the old group and EML4-ALK fusions, BCL2L11 deletion polymorphism, EGFR 19DEL, 20IN more recurrent in the young group. For the base substitution, the young showed a lower fraction of transversion. Further, we performed a pathway analysis and found the EGFR tyrosine kinase inhibitor resistance pathway enriched in the young lung cancer group, which was validated in gene expression data later.
There were significantly different molecular features of the young lung cancer group. The young lung cancer group had a more simple alteration structure. Alteration spectrums and base substitution types varied between two groups, implying the different pathogenesis. The young lung cancer group had more potential treatment choices. Although young lung patients had better outcomes, there were still adverse factors of them, suggesting that the young group still needs more caution for treatment choice and monitoring after the treatment to further improve the prognosis.
Embankment soil affected by saline can not only cause roadbed settlement, frosting, and road cracks but also cause corrosion and cracking of roadbed pipelines, which seriously affects the stability ...of the road. Water evaporation and dry cracking of the saline soil mainly cause soil swelling, poor water stability, and corrosive characteristics of the embankment soil. In this study, the evaporative cracking characteristics of soil with different saline concentrations were investigated. The results showed that the moisture content decreased linearly with the drying time in the early evaporation process, subsequently decreased slow down in the mid-term evaporation, and finally become got and remain a residual moisture content, which are 46.39%, 44.05%, 42.70%, and 40.27% with the increase of the saline concentration. The evaporation process with different saline concentrations in the soil can be divided into three stages: uniform evaporation stage, slow down evaporation stage, and equilibrium evaporation stage, which was consistent with the moisture content change. With the development of the drying time, the cracks gradually appeared on the soil surface, gradually deepened in the soil, and expanded the crack network. The development of cracks can be divided into three stages: the cracking preparation stage, the crack development stage, and the crack stable stage. The cracking began at high evaporation rate under high saline concentration, and the fractal dimension remained stable under similar saline concentration. The fractal dimension was gradually increased with the decrease of the moisture content and the increase of the saline concentration, respectively. The soil began to crack with larger moisture under high saline concentration. The drying cracks in the nature were consistent with the configuration of the cracks formed in the experimental results.
The study aimed to explore the relationship among negative academic emotions (e.g., anxiety, shame, anger, boredom, hopelessness, disappointment, and hatred), psychological well-being (including life ...vitality, health concern, altruism commitment, self-value, friendly relationship, and personal development), and cognitive reappraisal in rural-to-urban migrant adolescents in China. Specifically, it was hypothesized that the relationship between psychological well-being and negative academic emotions is moderated by cognitive reappraisal. A total of 311 migrant adolescents aged 14-20 years were selected, including 132 boys and 179 girls. Results of a regression analysis showed that cognitive reappraisal (positive) and negative academic emotions were significant predictors of psychological well-being. The interaction effect between cognitive reappraisal and negative academic emotion was also a significant predictor of psychological well-being. In the simple slope analysis the group with a below average cognitive reappraisal score the negative academic emotions were associated with lower psychological well-being, whereas in the group with above average cognitive reappraisal the effect of negative academic emotions on psychological well-being was not significant. However, for those with a cognitive reappraisal score of 1 standard deviation above the average, the effect of negative academic emotions on psychological well-being was not significant. These results suggest that cognitive reappraisal was a significant moderator in the relationship between negative academic emotion and psychological well-being.

Desiccation cracks form on the surface of foundation soils due to matric suction and surface shrinkage with water loss. This paper investigates the effect of tea waste on the change of water content ...and cracking characteristics of foundation soil during drying. Digital image processing was carried out based on laboratory experiments. The characteristics are monitored with a variation in water content. The effects of different amounts of tea waste on soil drying and cracking were obtained, in order to provide an efficient and new green sustainable material for improving soil evaporation cracking under drought conditions. The results show that the development of cracks of soil samples with tea waste can be categorized into three stages in accordance with the fractal dimension of the desiccation cracks: Stages I, II, and III. The desiccation cracks in Stage III are wider and longer than those in Stages I and II, however, the maximum fractal dimension and stability are also obtained in Stage III. The residual water content of the sample without tea waste is 1.5%. The residual water content of the samples containing 4% and 8% tea waste is 4.6% and 5.4%, respectively, which shows that the tea waste can effectively improve the residual water content of the foundation soil and the water holding capacity of the soil. The fractal dimension of cracks on the soil samples increases gradually with drying. The total length of cracks increases and the development of cracks is more complex. The cracking time of soil samples with different tea waste contents is different. The soil samples with 8% tea waste content crack first. Combined with the variation characteristics of water content, tea waste has water absorption and improves the water holding capacity and stability of foundation soil.

. The results showed that the yield of both varieties increased with increasing N and the maximum values were observed under the N

treatment. As more N was gradually applied, the brown rice rate, milled rice rate, head rice rate and GABA content of both varieties first increased and then decreased, while the chalky grain rate and chalkiness showed the opposite trend. The optimal values of these indexes were observed under the N
2
treatment. The peak viscosity and breakdown value of J20 decreased, while its setback value and pasting temperature increased with increasing N. In contrast, Koshihikari showed the opposite trend. The protein content and protein component contents of both varieties showed an increasing trend with increasing N, among which gliadin was the most sensitive protein component to N fertilizer. Animal experiments results showed that J20 brown rice could significantly slow the rate of weight gain of rats, reduce serum total cholesterol and triglyceride levels and increase high-density lipoprotein cholesterol levels. Therefore, increasing N could effectively enhance J20 yield and improve processing, appearance and nutritional quality but decrease cooking and eating quality. The brown rice J20 had the effect of slowing the rate of weight gain and reducing the hyperlipidemia level of rats, the optimal N application rate for achieving high yield, high quality and good functional characteristics in the giant embryo rice J20 was 135 kg ha
-1
. These findings will provide a theoretical and technical foundation for the popularization and application of giant embryo rice in the future.
Search engine data are of considerable interest to researchers for their utility in predicting human behaviour. Recently, search engine data have also been used to predict tourism demand (TD). Models ...developed based on such data generate more accurate forecasts of TD than pure time-series models. The aim of this article is to examine whether combining causal variables with search engine data can further improve the forecasting performance of search engine data models. Based on an artificial neural network framework, 168 observations during 2005–2018 for short-haul travel from Hong Kong to Macau are involved in the test, and the empirical results suggest that search engine data models with causal variables outperform models without causal variables and other benchmark models.
Rivers transport terrestrial matter into the ocean, constituting a fundamental channel between inland and oceanic ecosystem and affect global climate change. To reveal chemical weathering processes ...and environmental health risks during flood periods, water samples were collected in the upper reaches of Three Gorges Reservoir (TGR) in 2020. HCO3− and Ca2+ were the most abundant anions and cations of the river water, respectively. The range of HCO3− concentration was between 1.81 and 3.02 mmol/L, while the mean content of Ca2+ was 1.03 mmol/L. The results of the Piper diagram and element ratios revealed that the river solutes were mainly contributed by carbonate weathering and gypsum-rich evaporite dissolution. A mass balance model indicated that the contribution order of sources to cations in the main channel (Yibin-Luzhou) was evaporites > carbonates > atmospheric input > silicates. The order in the Chongqing—Three Gorges Dam was carbonates > atmospheric input > evaporites > silicates. These results showed a lithologic control on hydrochemical characteristics. Most sampling sites were suitable for agricultural irrigation according to the water quality assessment. However, indexes sodium adsorption ratio (SAR) and soluble sodium percentage (Na%) were higher than 1.0 in Yibin-Luzhou and 30% in Yibin–Chongqing, respectively, suggesting a potential sodium hazard. In addition, except Tuojiang River and Shennong River, the risk of sodium hazard in tributaries was relatively low. High Na+ concentration in irrigation water can damage soil structure and function and ultimately affect agricultural production. Water quality in the upstream of a Piper diagram should attract enough attention.
Hesitant fuzzy sets (HFSs) are widely applied in pattern recognition, classification, clustering, and multiple attribute decision making. In order to get more accurate decision results, the order ...relation of HFSs is particularly important. In this paper, some defects of the existing order relations for HFSs are discussed. In order to solve these problems, by employing a distance measure and the TOPSIS method, we propose a new order relation extraction method based on a new additive consistency fuzzy preference relation for hesitant fuzzy elements (HFEs). Then, the proposed additive consistency fuzzy preference relation is applied to integrate group decision information. In multi-attribute group decision making (MAGDM), it is particularly important to ensure the consensus of the decision-makers (DMs), and the consistency of the decision process is the precondition for DMs to reach consensus. The proposed method can maintain the consistency of the decision process for MAGDM under hesitant fuzzy environments, so as to get the consensus of DMs, besides, it can overcome the limitations of the existing order relations for HFSs. At the end of this paper, a numerical example is used to illustrate the effectiveness and feasibility of the new approach, and some comparative analyses are given. The obtained results confirm the theoretical and numerical analyses and emphasize the advantages, which can ensure the consistency of the whole decision process and avoid the original decision information change and loss of the proposed method, so as to be more in line with the actual situation.
Gastric cancer (GC) ranks as the fifth most prevalent malignancy and the second leading cause of oncologic mortality globally. Despite staging guidelines and standard treatment protocols, significant ...heterogeneity exists in patient survival and response to therapy for GC. Thus, an increasing number of research have examined prognostic models recently for screening high-risk GC patients.
We studied DEGs between GC tissues and adjacent non-tumor tissues in GEO and TCGA datasets. Then the candidate DEGs were further screened in TCGA cohort through univariate Cox regression analyses. Following this, LASSO regression was utilized to generate prognostic model of DEGs. We used the ROC curve, Kaplan-Meier curve, and risk score plot to evaluate the signature's performance and prognostic power. ESTIMATE, xCell, and TIDE algorithm were used to explore the relationship between the risk score and immune landscape relationship. As a final step, nomogram was developed in this study, utilizing both clinical characteristics and a prognostic model.
There were 3211 DEGs in TCGA, 2371 DEGs in GSE54129, 627 DEGs in GSE66229, and 329 DEGs in GSE64951 selected as candidate genes and intersected with to obtain DEGs. In total, the 208 DEGs were further screened in TCGA cohort through univariate Cox regression analyses. Following this, LASSO regression was utilized to generate prognostic model of 6 DEGs. External validation showed favorable predictive efficacy. We studied interaction between risk models, immunoscores, and immune cell infiltrate based on six-gene signature. The high-risk group exhibited significantly elevated ESTIMATE score, immunescore, and stromal score relative to low-risk group. The proportions of CD4
memory T cells, CD8
naive T cells, common lymphoid progenitor, plasmacytoid dentritic cell, gamma delta T cell, and B cell plasma were significantly enriched in low-risk group. According to TIDE, the TIDE scores, exclusion scores and dysfunction scores for low-risk group were lower than those for high-risk group. As a final step, nomogram was developed in this study, utilizing both clinical characteristics and a prognostic model.
In conclusion, we discovered a 6 gene signature to forecast GC patients' OS. This risk signature proves to be a valuable clinical predictive tool for guiding clinical practice.
