With the rapid increase of industrial systems, industrial spectrum is stepping into the era of big data, and at the same time spectrum resources are facing serious shortage. Cognitive industrial ...system (CIS) based on cognitive radio can improve spectrum utilization by accessing the idle spectrum licensed to primary user. However, the CIS must find enough idle channels by performing spectrum sensing. In this article, a reinforcement learning-based multislot double-threshold spectrum sensing with Bayesian fusion is proposed to sense industrial big spectrum data, which can find required idle channels faster while guaranteeing spectrum sensing performance. Double thresholds are set to guarantee both high detection probability and spectrum access probability, and weighed energy detection is proposed to maximize detection probability when the energy statistic falls into the confusion area between the double thresholds. Bayesian fusion is proposed to get a final decision on the channel availability by combining the local sensing decisions of all the time slots. A prediction and selection algorithm for idle channels is proposed to predict the idle probability of each channel and find required idle channels from the sorted channel set. From simulation results, the proposed spectrum sensing scheme outperforms cooperative spectrum sensing and energy detection, which can predict idle channels accurately and get needed idle channels with fewer sensing operations.

We collected data from the ...statistical yearbooks of the China National Bureau of Statistics and the Shandong Provincial Bureau of Statistics. Join-point Regression Program 4.9.0.0 and ArcGIS 10.8 software were used to analyze the temporal and spatial trends.
The mortality rate of road traffic injuries in Shandong Province decreased from 2001 to 2019, with an average annual decrease of 5.8% (Z = -20.7, P < 0.1). The three key time points analyzed in the Join-point regression model roughly corresponded to the implementation times of traffic laws and regulations in China. The temporal trend in case fatality rate in Shandong Province from 2001 to 2019 was not statistically significant (Z = 2.8, P < 0.1). The mortality rate showed spatial autocorrelation (global Moran's I = 0.3889, Z = 2.2043, P = 0.028) and spatial clustering. No spatial autocorrelation was observed in the case fatality rate (global Moran's I = -0.0183, Z = 0.2308, P = 0.817).
The mortality rate in Shandong Province decreased significantly over the studied period, but the case fatality rate did not decline significantly and remains relatively high. Many factors influence road traffic fatalities, among which laws and regulations are the most important.

Sleep loss and irregular sleep patterns in adolescents are major public health concerns in the modern society. This study aimed to explore the associations between short and long sleep duration and depressive symptoms among Chinese adolescents.
A total of 7311 adolescents who participated in the baseline survey and were followed up 1 year or 2 years later were included in the analyses. Participants completed a self-administered questionnaire at baseline and follow-up surveys. The Center for Epidemiologic Studies Depression (CES-D) scale was used to assess depressive symptoms. Generalized estimating equation (GEE) and restrictive cubic spline models were used to estimate the association between sleep duration and depressive symptoms.
After adjusting for adolescent and family covariates, sleep duration <8 h and >=9 h on weekdays and sleep duration <8 h and >=12 h on weekends were significantly associated with depressive symptoms compared with sleep 8 h. Weekend-weekday sleep difference >=3 h or <-1 h (ie. sleeping >1 h on weekdays than weekends) was also associated with depressive symptoms. There were U-shaped relationships between sleep duration on weekdays, weekends, or weekday-weekend sleep difference and depressive symptoms.
Sleep duration and depression were measured by self-report.
Our findings highlight the risk of short and long sleep duration, and weekday-weekend sleep imbalance for depression in adolescents.
Daytime sleepiness is associated with poor daytime functioning and adverse cognitive and emotional consequences, such as impaired decision-making and increased impulsivity. Little is known about the ...association between daytime sleepiness and suicidal behaviors. This study examined the prospective relationship between daytime sleepiness and suicidal behaviors, including suicidal thought (ST), suicide plan (SP), and suicide attempt (SA), in a large sample of adolescents.
A prospective longitudinal study of 7072 adolescents (mean age = 14.6 years) was conducted in Shandong province, China. Participants completed a self-administered questionnaire to assess suicidal behaviors, daytime sleepiness, nighttime sleep duration, insomnia, snoring, hopelessness, impulsivity, anxiety/depression, and family demographics. Participants were first surveyed in November-December 2015 and resurveyed 1 year later. Of the 7072 participants, 77.1% (n = 5451) who did not report suicidal behaviors at baseline were included for primary analysis.
The incidence rates of ST, SP, and SA at 1 year follow-up were 6.0%, 2.1%, and 1.6%, respectively. The incidence rates of ST and SP significantly increased with elevated daytime sleepiness score at baseline. After adjusting for adolescent and family covariates including sleep-related variables (i.e. insomnia, nighttime sleep duration, and snoring), a daytime sleepiness score ≥ median at baseline was significantly associated with increased risk of ST (OR = 1.55, 95%CI = 1.02-2.35) and SP (OR = 2.60, 95%CI = 1.22-5.53).
Daytime sleepiness appears to be a significant predictor of subsequent suicidal behaviors in adolescents. These findings emphasize the importance of assessing and intervening daytime sleepiness for preventing suicide in adolescents.

This prospective cohort study comprised 280,032 non-depressed individuals with valid lung function measurements from the UK Biobank. Lung function was assessed through the forced vital capacity (FVC) or forced expiratory volume in 1 s (FEV
). Cox proportional hazard models were applied to estimate the associations between lung function and incident depression. Mediation analyses were fitted to investigate the potential mediating role of biomarkers and metabolites in the association.
A total of 9514 participants (3.4%) developed depression during a median follow-up of 13.91 years. Individuals in the highest quartile had a lower risk of depression (FVC % predicted: HR = 0.880, 95% CI = 0.830-0.933; FEV
% predicted: HR = 0.854, 95% CI = 0.805-0.905) compared with those in the lowest quartile of the lung function indices. Additionally, the restricted cubic splines suggested lung function indices had reversed J-shaped associations with incident depression (nonlinear P < 0.05 for FVC % predicted and FEV
% predicted). Impaired lung function yielded similar risk estimates (HR = 1.124, 95% CI = 1.074-1.176). Biomarkers involving systemic inflammation, erythrocytes, and liver and renal function may be potential mediators in the lung function-depression association.
This study revealed that the higher risk of developing depression was associated with impaired lung function. Also, the association might be partially mediated by biomarkers including systemic inflammation, erythrocytes, and liver and renal function, though these mediation findings should be interpreted with caution due to potential temporal ambiguity.
Non-suicidal self-injury (NSSI) is a significant public health concern. Authoritarian parenting is a common parenting style in China. Authoritarian parenting is associated with NSSI in adolescents. ...Little is known about the mechanism underlying this association. This study was to investigate the mediating effect of depressive symptoms on the association between maternal authoritarian parenting and NSSI among Chinese adolescents.
A total of 7072 adolescents who participated in the 1-year follow-up of Shandong Adolescent Behavior & Health Cohort (SABHC) were included for the analysis. A self-administered questionnaire was used to assess authoritarian parenting, depressive symptoms, non-suicidal self-injury, and family demographics in November–December in 2015. One year later, a follow-up survey was carried out to assess participants' depressive symptoms and NSSI.
Of the sample, mean age was 14.58 (SD = 1.46) and 3536 (50%) were female at baseline. 19.4% adolescents reported having ever NSSI over the past 12 months at baseline, and 8.8% reported having ever NSSI at 1-year follow-up. The association of maternal authoritarian parenting with subsequent NSSI was at least partially mediated by depressive symptoms. Mediation analyses showed that effect size was 0.194 in the entire sample, 0.192 in females and 0.193 in males, respectively.
All variables were measured based on self-report.
Maternal authoritarian parenting style is a significant predictor of NSSI and its association with NSSI is partially mediated by depressive symptoms among Chinese adolescents. It may be important to intervene poor parenting styles and depression to reduce the risk of NSSI in Chinese adolescents.

There is increasing evidence for the role of environmental factors and exposure to the natural environment on a wide range of health outcomes. Whether exposure to green space, blue space, and the ...natural environment (GBN) is associated with risk of psychiatric disorders in middle-aged and older adults has not been prospectively examined.
Longitudinal data from the UK biobank was used. At the study baseline (2006-2010), 363,047 participants (women: 53.4%; mean age 56.7 ± 8.1 years) who had not been previously diagnosed with any psychiatric disorder were included. Follow-up was achieved by collecting records from hospitals and death registers. Measurements of green and blue space modeled from land use data and natural environment from Land Cover Map were assigned to the residential address for each participant. Cox proportional hazard models with adjustment for potential confounders were used to explore the longitudinal associations between GBN and any psychiatric disorder and then by specific psychiatric disorders (dementia, substance abuse, psychotic disorder, depression, and anxiety) in middle-aged and older adults.
During an average follow-up of 11.5 ± 2.8 years, 49,865 individuals were diagnosed with psychiatric disorders. Compared with the first tertile (lowest) of exposure, blue space at 300 m buffer hazard ratio (HR): 0.973, 95% confidence interval (CI): 0.952-0.994 and natural environment at 300 m buffer (HR: 0.970, 95% CI: 0.948-0.992) and at 1000 m buffer (HR: 0.975, 95% CI: 0.952-0.999) in the third tertile (highest) were significantly associated with lower risk of incident psychiatric disorders, respectively. The risk of incident dementia was statistically decreased when exposed to the third tertile (highest) of green space and natural environment at 1000 m buffer. The third tertile (highest) of green space at 300 m and 1000 m buffer and natural environment at 300 m and 1000 m buffer was associated with a reduction of 30.0%, 31.8%, 21.7%, and 30.3% in the risk of developing a psychotic disorder, respectively. Subgroup analysis suggested that the elderly, men, and those living with some comorbid conditions may derive greater benefits associated with exposure to GBN.
This study suggests that GBN has significant benefits for lowering the risk of psychiatric disorders in middle-aged and older adults. Future studies are warranted to validate these findings and to understand the potential mechanistic pathways underpinning these novel findings.
The evidence is limited for the dose-response association between breakfast skipping and suicidality. The underlying pathway from breakfast skipping to suicidality has also rarely been explored in ...previous studies.
The data of Youth Risk Behavior Surveys (YRBSs) of the United States from 2011 to 2019 were used with a sample size of 74,074. The male: female ratio was nearly 1:1. Binary logistic regression models with complex sampling design were adopted to show the effect of breakfast skipping on weight status, depressive symptoms, and suicidality. Serial mediation was used to explore the association between breakfast skipping and suicidality by overweight/obesity and depressive symptoms.
The weighted prevalence rates (95% confidence interval) of suicidal ideation, suicide plan, suicide attempt, and medically serious suicide attempt for skipping breakfast totally (0 times/week) were 25.6% (24.4-26.8%), 21.7% (20.5-22.9%), 14.2% (13.0-15.3%), and 5.3% (4.6-5.9%). Breakfast skipping was significantly associated with increased risk of suicidal ideation, suicide plan, suicide attempt, and medically serious suicide attempt. There was statistical significance for the linear dose-response association between breakfast skipping and overweight/obesity, depressive symptoms, and suicidality regardless of sex and age. A serial mediation with effect sizes between 39.68% and 51.30% for the association between breakfast skipping and suicidality by overweight/obesity and depressive symptoms was found in this study.
This study emphasizes the hazards of breakfast skipping, which could increase the risk of suicidality among adolescents. Overweight/obesity and depressive symptoms as the mediating factors for the association between breakfast skipping and suicidality should also be with more attention.
Unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) enabled Internet of Things (IoT) can keep network connectivity when the ground infrastructures are paralyzed. However, its transmission perform will be restricted due to ...the limited energy of the UAV. In this paper, a multi-UAV enabled IoT is proposed, where the UAVs as base stations send information to the ground IoT nodes via downlink within the flight time. And a fair energy-efficient resource optimization scheme for the IoT is studied to ensure fair energy consumption of multiple UAVs. The optimization problem seeks to maximize the minimum energy efficiency of each UAV by jointly optimizing communication scheduling, power allocations and trajectories of the UAVs. We decompose the non-convex optimization problem into three sub-optimization problems and solve them by Dlinkelbach method and successive convex approximation (SCA). Then a joint optimization algorithm is put forward to obtain the global optimal solutions by iteratively optimizing the three sub-optimization problems. The simulations results show that the multi-UAV enabled IoT can achieve significant performance improvement, and the energy efficiency between UAVs can achieve relative fairness by the fair resource optimization.

Prolonged screen time has negative impacts on health and well-being. This study examined the association between the duration of mobile phone use (DMPU) and depressive symptoms in a large sample of Chinese adolescents.
11,831 adolescent students participated in the baseline Shandong Adolescent Behavior and Health Cohort (SABHC) survey in Shandong, China in 2015. A self-administered questionnaire was used to measure DMPU on weekdays and the weekend, sleep, mental health, and family environment. The Center for Epidemiologic Studies Depression Scale (CES-D) and Youth Self-Report (YSR) depression scales were used to assess depressive symptoms.
The mean age of participants was 15.0 (SD = 1.5) and 51% were male. The prevalence of depressive symptoms increased with prolonged DMPU. After adjusting for adolescent and family covariates, DMPU ≥ 2 h/day on weekdays (OR = 1.78, 95%CI = 1.48—2.15) and ≥ 5 h/day on the weekend (OR = 1.67, 95%CI = 1.41—1.98) was associated with increased risk of depressive symptoms as assessed by CES-D. The DMPU-depression association was found to be partially mediated by short sleep duration or insomnia. Similar associations were observed for depression as assessed by YSR.

Prolonged mobile phone use of ≥ 2 h on weekdays and ≥ 5 h on the weekend is associated with an increased risk of depressive symptoms. The association appears to be partially mediated by sleep disturbances.
