Small frameshift deletions within the COL4A5 gene were identified in three Alport syndrome Italian families by non-isotopic single-strand conformation polymorphism (SSCP) screening: in family RMA, a ...7-bp deletion (GGGTGAA) in exon 39; in family DGR, a 4-bp deletion (TGGA) in exon 41; in family MIB, deletion of a G in exon 50. The phenotype was characterized by juvenile-onset renal failure with sensorineural hearing loss in males, and a milder clinical pattern in heterozygous females.
The impact of fin line-edge roughness on threshold voltage and drive current of LSTP-32 nm Fin-FETs is estimated through TCAD simulations. A Monte Carlo approach highlights an increase in the average ...V T and a decrease in the average I ON w.r.t. sensitivity analysis based predictions. Correlations of fin shape fluctuations to electrical performance are investigated. An equivalent fin width is calculated, which allows reducing the spread in I ON scatter plots and highlights relative importance of LER in different fin regions. Simplified device instances with linearly varying fin width are simulated to better assess the impact of local thinning/thickening in the channel, S and D extensions, revealing asymmetries in the device behavior upon swapping the taper direction. Impact of LER on noise margins of FinFET-based SRAMs is investigated in the hold, read and write mode of cell operation. Results are compared to published data on fabricated cells with similar device features. mu-6sigma statistics helps with assessing variability concerns for mainstream integration of FinFET-SRAMs in future technology nodes.
Structural Health Monitoring (SHM) of 2D areas can be performed by combining time waveforms acquired by an array of Guided Wave (GW) transducers through phased addition algorithms. However, spatial ...resolution in defect localization is often limited by both dispersion in wave mode propagation and imaging noise associated to conventional delay-and-sum (DAS) beamforming. Starting from a statistical interpretation of DAS, this paper combines a recently proposed time-frequency procedure based on the Warped Frequency Transform (WFT) and convex optimization with an adaptive thresholding technique to process multi-mode and dispersive Lamb waves. The proposed signal processing is applied to time waveforms recorded at an array of scan points after waveguide excitation. The results show high-resolution source and scatterer imaging, thus considerably improving localization accuracy by imaging noise removal.
