The article overviews and introduces the current issue of Filosofija. Sociologija. The topics include contemporary problems concerned with the integration of knowledge of Anthropocene and related ...issues into educational practices as well as how to reach authentic communication in technologically mediated education during the pandemic. The issue also covers the influence of computer and internet technologies on understanding of identity, as well as epistemic issues concerning the creation of artificial knowledge-producing systems, among other themes.

Cassirerio, E. Jüngerio bei O. Spenglerio industrializacijos proceso filosofinių apmąstymų. Nagrinėjant šių mąstytojų moderniosios technikos koncepcijų ryšius išryškėja, kaip vystėsi Heideggerio tekstams būdinga industrializacijos proceso artikuliacija bei jo technikos filosofijai svarbi problematika, liečianti planetarinį moderniosios technikos išplitimą ir poveikį bei technikos, kaip Vakarų ir šiuolaikinės žmonijos apskritai lemties, sampratą.
In this article the twofoldness of Heidegger’s treatment of modern technology is presented. Firstly, it is shown that one can trace the line of thinking on modern technology from the earliest to the ...latest of Heidegger’s thinking periods. Though Heidegger claimed that it was firstly the task to understand the essence of modern technology that concerned him, it is still possible to discern basic trends of treatment or evaluation of modern technology in his thinking. On the one hand, the Heideggerian critique of modern technoscientific revelation of reality is presented: Heidegger stressed not only the negative practical consequences of technology as ecological crisis but also ontological ones as the disappearance of the experience of Being itself. The program of the overcoming of technology is presented as well as some examples of the alternatives. On the other hand, the positive or appropriative treatment of modern technology is presented. The fragmentary suggestions that it is precisely the modern technological revealing of reality that prepares the way for the authentic experience of Being are developed by connecting them with early Heidegger’s claim that it is the basic experience of production that forms the conceptual horizon of Western culture. The possibility that this line of Heideggerian thinking might help to understand and articulate such important phenomena of current technoscientific condition as synthetic biology is mentioned.
In this article the context of the formation of some important elements of Heidegger’s philosophy of technology is presented. The parallels between Heidegger’s and Ernst Cassirrer’s, Ernst Jünger’s ...and Oswald Spengler’s philosophical reflection on the process of industrialisation are discussed. While discussing the connections of their conceptions the development of characteristic Heideggerian articulation of industrialisation process comes to the fore, as well as of some important themes of Heidegger’s philosophy of technology: planetary scope of modern technology’s reach and impact and the notion of technology as destiny of the West and modern humanity in general.
This article interferes into the discussion regarding the relationship between the philosophies of Heidegger and Plato. It argues for the thesis that in the corpus of Platonic dialogues it is ...possible to find a concept of truth which corresponds to the Heideggerian one. First, it is shown, that both Plato and Heidegger similarly describe the genesis of false language and it’s connectedness with un-truth. Secondly, it is shown that both Plato and Heidegger understand truth – to use a Heideggerian concept – as unconcealedness with concealedness belonging to it. And finally, it is shown that in the works of Plato one can find structural equivalents of later Heidegger’s attempt to think over the “conditions of possibility” of truth as unconcealedness.
