Flexographic printing plate is used for the transfer of image onto a printing substrate. The surface of printing plate is stretched lengthwise when the plate is mounted on plate cylinder. As a ...result, the print length on the impression is always longer than the actual length of the plate. Prepress must compensate for this difference in length. The result of wrong plate distortion is different print length in flexography compared to the processes that follow printing. The aim of this paper is to research the influence of repeat length in printing and polymer plate thickness on the factor distortion. The distortion factor values were calculated using the derived formulas. Regardless of the repeat length in printing, the value of the thickness factor for a particular printing plate is constant. However, the values of the distortion factor decrease with the increasing thickness of the polymer plate and the decreasing of the total plate cylinder circumference.
This study characterizes and compares the dot properties in flexography on coated and uncoated paper and on OPP film, with the use of conventional AM screening technology and photopolymer plate with ...flat top dots. A monochrome test form was created and printed with cyan ink on three different printing substrates. For the study of the dot deformation, microscopic images were taken from the prints and analyzed using ImageJ software. The primary area of the study are highlight tones since the reproduction of small dots is synonymous with high quality reproduction. All significant parameters of the dot deformation were evaluated, including the dot geometry, dot sharpness and uniformity of density. The image analysis showed that dot deformation is the result of spreading and penetration of the ink. The microscopic snapshots of the test areas on the prints show that ink penetrates significantly into the pores and holes of the uncoated paper, resulting in a non-homogeneous dot, thus losing its original shape. On coated paper and OPP film, the ink spreads more on the surface of the printing substrate and in such way gives a more homogeneous dot shape.
The top dot shape is an important element of plate dot geometry which has a significant effect on dot formation on the prints. There are several key parameters that can affect individual dot ...deformation: nip engagement, line ruling and dot geometry. The main question is how these parameters affect dot deformation. This paper researches the issues regarding print quality in highlights, especially dot formation on print at lighter and higher pressure which leads to inconsistency in the printing process like loss of highlight detail and unpredictable dot gain. The purpose of this research is to improve the understanding of the effect of nip engagement on dot deformation and to determine how top dot shapes affect dot formation. A test image was printed with cyan UV ink on aluminium foil on the pre-printed opaque white ink with plates of different types of top dot shapes, round and flat. The images were taken from the prints and analysed by using ImageJ software. All the important parameters of dot formation including uniformity of density, dot sharpness and dot roundness were evaluated. The results highlight the importance of the top dot shape in plate dot geometry which has a significant effect on print dot formation.

Flexography is widely used in the packaging industry due to the fact that print can be adapted into various printing substrates, whose surface characteristics substantially affect the reproduction ...quality. Accordingly, this research comprises the comparison of the most important quality parameters of graphic reproduction in accordance with the ISO 12647-6 standard for three types of printing substrates: uncoated and coated paper and OPP film. The main goal is to examine the effect of the printing process in combination with various printing substrates on the color characteristics on the print. After the printing of a color-test form, the characterization of prints was carried out. The obtained results serve as the guidelines and recommendations for an easier and simpler control of reproduction. It has been concluded that the existing standard provides only basic recommendations. Accordingly, the characterization of the process should be adjusted to the customers' expectations.
Rickets is a disorder of bone mineralization in children?s skeleton. It is
most often associated with vitamin D deficiency, however, it can also occur
due to a decrease in serum phosphate levels, ...which leads to inadequate
tissue mineralization, with consequent skeletal deformity and growth
disorders. Patients with hypophosphatemic rickets show teeth changes at the
morphological and histological level, as well as on radiological images. The
aim of this study was to perform clinical and radiological evaluation of
dental manifestations of hypophosphatemic rickets in a four-year-old boy, as
well as to point out the necessity of including a dentist in the treatment
of this disease in order to prevent oral complications.

Today, the Internet is the main source of information for both users and businesses. Communication and exchange of information are two-way, but results are often obtained unstructured, multimodal, ...informal, high-dimensional, and noisy. This is especially pronounced with data collected from social media which are an indispensable marketing tool. A large number of active users allows you to quickly spread the sent message, while also providing almost instant feedback. However, not all forms of sent messages are noticed and spread equally. Therefore, in this paper, a sentimental analysis of the users' reactions was made. Multimodal data were used to collect users' reactions: text publication, image publication, and infographics on the topic of ecology. All three types of publications are posted on three social media, Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn. Naive Bayes, Decision Tree, Random Forest, Support Vector Machine, and Neural Network Algorithms were used to automatically assess sentiment as positive, negative, or neutral. The results thus given show the best overall performance for Decision Tree classifier on all types of users' reactions. Then follows Random Forest and finally Naive Bayes classifier. Also, the obtained results show data linearity from which it can be concluded that on whatever social media it is published, infographics certainly has a leading position when it comes to spotting and getting users' reactions, especially positive ones.

Better understanding of how internal structural changes affect the optical properties requires modelling the composite structure of a paper layer. We propose a Monte Carlo simulation platform, which ...allows different geometrical representations of the inner paper structure. Monte Carlo Modelling is a method that can be used to simulate photon interaction with substrate (in our case paper). The model can be built such that increasing complexity can be added as the model is being developed. Thus, the model is developed from a simple concept of random number generation to a very accurate interpretation of photon propagation in paper. We applied the model to the analysis of the effect of dot gain. The above model was used to analyse the effect of weight gain dot gain of printed lines of different thicknesses. The simulation results are in good agreement with measurements of reflection after having additionally introduced a "filter" function that permanently removes photons thereby adapting simulated values to the measured ones. Within the framework of the simulation, we can estimate the number of photons that ends below the screen element causing a possible increase of the optical dot gain.
