The process of achieving the meaning of life is not easy for every individual because it is not only related to pleasant life experiences but also tragic or traumatic life experiences. Failure to ...find and fulfill the meaning of life usually leads to an appreciation of life without meaning, emptiness, feeling that you have no purpose in life, and feeling that your life is meaningless. One of the individuals who have difficulty in the process of finding the meaning of life is an athlete with a physical disability at the National Paralympic Committee (NPC) Bengkulu Province. Therefore, an in-depth study is needed regarding the process of achieving meaningfulness in the lives of athletes with physical disabilities at the Bengkulu Province NPC. This research was conducted with qualitative research methods. Respondents in this study consisted of 5 quadriplegic athletes, consisting of 5male athletes. Collecting research data using interviews. The results of the study stated that each respondent went through 5 stages to achieve the meaning of life, namely the stages of suffering, self-acceptance, the discovery of the meaning of life, realization of meaning, and meaningful life. In the first stage, each respondent experienced suffering because they were looked down upon or bullied by the people around them. In the second stage, each respondent begins to accept himself with resignation, patience, and sincerity in living life. In the third stage, each respondent successfully went through the process of finding meaning with the support of parents and family. In the fourth stage, each respondent is committed to the life goals that have been set. In the fifth stage, each respondent lives a meaningful life by pursuing a profession as an athlete. So it can be concluded that the process of achieving the meaning of life for athletes with disabilities is through sports.
Background and Study Aim. The assessment instrument for gross motor skills in physical education is crucial in developing fundamental motor skills in elementary school students. This research aims to ...formulate an assessment tool for gross motor skills tailored to students aged 7-9, aligning with their specific characteristics. Material and Methods. This study adopts a research and development approach utilizing the 4D development procedure (Define, Design, Develop, Disseminate). It involves the validation process by five experts in motor skills and physical education, comprising faculty members from five distinct universities. The trial subjects encompass 310 elementary school students aged 7-9, while the instrument's effectiveness is evaluated by 35 individuals, including physical education teachers and students. Statistical analyses encompass content validity, criterion validity, test-retest reliability using Cronbach's alpha, and descriptive percentage analysis. Results. This research has produced a gross motor skills assessment instrument comprising 11 movement components: sit and stand up, rolling, one-leg stand, gallop, slide, jump, bouncing a ball, catching, throwing, kicking, and hitting. The content validity result is 1>0.763, criterion validity (rxy) > 0.304, Cronbach's alpha value for all items > 0.60, and the average perception assessment of instrument effectiveness > 93%, falling into the category of extremely high. Conclusions. The assessment instrument demonstrates high validity and reliability, effectively addressing the challenges associated with the need for assessments tailored to the evaluated subject's characteristics, objectives, and relevance. An easily comprehensible instrument, coupled with language accessibility, yields positive outcomes for physical education teachers in the assessment process.
The level of motivation and learning outcomes of physical education students is still in the low category, especially in participating in adaptive physical education lectures. Therefore, an effective ...adaptive physical education learning design or model is needed so that learning objectives can be achieved optimally. The learning model demanded by students today is a learning model that is open, flexible, accessible to students wherever and whenever. For this reason, one alternative to overcome low motivation and learning outcomes is to combine the flipped classroom and team games tournament learning models. The research method used is classroom action research using two cycles consisting of planning, action, observation, and reflection. Instruments and data collection techniques used observation guides, questionnaires, and tests. Qualitative descriptive techniques are used to analyze the results of observations, while quantitative descriptive techniques are used to analyze the results of questionnaires and learning outcomes. Based on the results of data analysis, it can be seen that the application of flipped classrooms and team games tournaments can increase motivation and adaptive physical education learning outcomes.
The purpose of this study was to formulate a strategy for developing sports tourism for people with physical disabilities in Bengkulu City. The method used in this research was descriptive ...qualitative. The data analysis technique used SWOT analysis. The results of data analysis show that the results of IFAS and EFAS were used to determine the position of the quadrant. Strengths and weaknesses produce the X-axis, namely X = 1.93 – 1.71 = 0.21, and the Y-axis represents opportunities – threats, namely Y = 1.04 – 2.12 = -1.08 to produce quadrant II or strategy diversification. The strategy applied in this condition is the Strength-Threat, namely: 1) formulating a clear vision and mission to make the Pantai Panjang Tourism Location a friendly sports tourism location for physical disabilities, 2) equipping accessible facilities and infrastructure for physical disabilities at the Semarak Stadium and Youth Sports Center and increase promotion to the public about the achievements of athletes with physical disabilities, 3) involving the Youth and Sports Office, the Indonesian National Sports Committee, academics, private parties and sports clubs in fostering sports achievements, 4) involving the private sector for the development of facilities and infrastructure for physical disabilities, 5) involving the private sector to develop sports clubs for people with physical disabilities.
Knowing the level of student academic self concept is the main goal in this research. The research design used is a survey with a quantitative descriptive method. The population involved in this ...study was 50 students. The sample used in this study was 50 students using total sampling. The instrument in the form of a questionnaire was used to collect research data. The mean ideal and the standard deviation ideal were used to analyze the research data. The results of the analysis show that: 1) the mean value of male students is 61.8 and the standard deviation of 13.61; 2) the mean value of female students of 31.3 and the standard deviation of 11.90. So, it can be concluded that the level of academic self-concept of physical education students is in the high category.
Efforts to Increase Interest and Learning Outcomes of Throwing Discs Using Melamine Plate Media for Class VIII Students of SMP Negeri 11 Bengkulu Tengah. This study aims to improve the teaching and ...learning process at SMPN 11 Bengkulu Tengah. CAR was carried out in class VIII.C students, totaling 23 students, consisting of 10 female students and 13 male students. Data collection in this activity was carried out by means of observation sheets, questionnaires and instruments for assessing student movement skills. Observations of teacher and student activities were carried out by two partner teachers in each cycle. Assessment of student movement skills is carried out in each cycle. The results showed that the learning outcomes of students throwing discs using plastic plate media could improve student learning outcomes with learning completeness in cycle I 43% and cycle II 83%. Learning to throw discs using melamine plate media also increases students' interest in learning as shown from the results of the questionnaire, namely from 83% in cycle one to 100% in cycle two which responds positively to learning to throw discs using melamine plate media
Background. The flipped classroom approach has been gaining increasing attention across various educational domains, including physical education. Recent research has underscored the necessity for ...innovative strategies to enhance student engagement in physical education, particularly in basketball instruction. Objectives. This study aimed to investigate the influence of the flipped classroom approach on student engagement in Basketball instruction within the Physical Education, Health, and Recreation program at the University level. Materials and methods. The research method involved an experimental design using the static group comparison approach, where 62 students enrolled in physical education were divided into experimental and control groups. The experimental group received instruction through the flipped classroom approach, while the control group underwent conventional instruction, with the intervention lasting for seven weeks. A comprehensive engagement scale questionnaire was used as the research instrument. Data analysis techniques included descriptive analysis and independent samples t-test. Results. The research findings revealed significantly higher levels of engagement in the agentic, behavioral, emotional, and cognitive dimensions among students in the flipped classroom group compared to those in the conventional classroom group. This indicates that the flipped classroom approach has a considerable effect on student engagement in basketball instruction. Conclusions. The study’s results have confirmed the effectiveness of the innovative pedagogical strategy of the flipped classroom in fostering meaningful learning experiences and motivating students within the context of physical education.
The purpose of this research was to increase reading interest and research proposal writing skills. The type of research used is classroom action with two cycles. The participants in this study were ...all seventh-semester physical education students who attended the proposal seminar lecture, totaling 80 students. Data collection techniques used observation guides, questionnaires, and product assessments in the form of research proposals. Data analysis techniques using categories and percentages. Based on the results of data analysis, it was known that in cycle 1 students' interest in reading was in the medium category, and cycle 2 is in the high category. Meanwhile, students' research proposal writing skills in cycle 1 was in the medium category, and in cycle 2 was in the high category. Classical completeness in cycle 1 was 18.75% for reading interest, and 17.5% for research proposal writing skills. Meanwhile, classical completeness in cycle 2 in this study was 81.25% for reading interest, and 82.5% for research proposal writing skills. So it can be concluded that the application of project-based blended learning increased reading interest and research proposal writing skills.
