It has become essential to create and apply new media in visual communication design due to social media existence. This study aims to investigate the role of innovative applications of new media in ...visual communication design in educational institutions. Traditional media design in visual communication lacks to disseminate information more effectively, which requires innovative change. Therefore, this study attempts to highlight the role of innovative application of new media in visual communication by considering visual expression design with information technology (IT), flexible layout, diversified modes of transmission, and interactivity of integration. For this purpose, this study adopted a quantitative research approach in which a cross-sectional research design is followed. A questionnaire survey is carried out to collect data from educational institutions in China. Partial Least Square-Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) is used for data analysis. Results of the study indicated that innovative applications of new media have central importance in visual communication. However, resistance to innovative change has a negative role in the relationship between innovative applications of new media and visual communication design. Results of the study highlighted that visual expression design with IT, flexible layout, diversified modes of transmission, and interactivity of integration have a positive effect on visual communication design. Therefore, among the educational intuitions of China, implementing innovative applications related to the new media can lead to visual communication design. The results of this study provided several insights for the practitioners to promote communication methods among educational institutions.
This study reveals the status of Javanese isolect in Wedi District, Klaten Regency which is influenced by Yogyakarta and Surakarta isolect. This is a quantitative descriptive study. Our data was ...collected from the residents of Wedi District, Klaten. The data was collected from 15 points of observation areas (villages) based on a dialectometric triangle. It includes the speech of local people. We employed the listening and speaking method. The listening method was equipped with note taking and tapping techniques, while the speaking method was equipped with by probing, face-to-face, and recording techniques. The techniques to analyze our data included reciprocal understanding, dialectometry, permutation and isogloss file. Based on our analysis, we find that the isolect status is based on different vocabularies, speeches, subdialects and dialects. This shows that the language diversity in the typical isolect still exists. These findings also prove that the Yogyakarta and Surakarta dialect holds isolect diversity as a representation and evidence of language diversity.

Abstrak: Penelitian ini merupakan kajian deskriptif kualitatifmengenai pemakaian bahasa etnik Madura di Surakarta pada ranah pendidikan. Data berupa wacana /isan dan dikumpulkan denganteknik simak ...libat cakap (observasi partisipasi), teknik rekam, teknikcatat, dan teknik wawancara mendalam (in-depth interview). Data dianalisis dengan pendekatan sosiolinguistik yang memperhitungkankonteks sosial berupa komponen tutut; yaitu penutur; mitra tutur situasitutur, tujuan tuturan, dan ha/ yang dituturkan. Hasil analisis dan pembahasan menunjukkan bahwa bahasa Indonesia mendominasipada ranah pendidikan walaupun bahasa Madura dan bahasa Jawa digunakan. Fungsi bahasa Madura: kekeluargaan, keakraban,ungkapan perasaan, identitas etnik, kerahasiaan dan pemertahananbudaya; bahasa Jawa: kebiasaan, adaptasi dan keakraban; bahasa Indonesia: situasi formal, komunikasi antaretnik, sekadar bergengsi,pendidikan, dan pertemuan awal; bahasa campur: situasi nonformal,penegasan pesan, dan konsep baru. Kekhasan pemakaian bahasa meliputi kata sapaan, pemakaian partikel, bentuk peru/angan ataureduplikasi, bentuk kata, variasi bahasa, dan dialek Bangkalan.
The prevention of the Covid-19 pandemic which took place in early 2020 – 2022 made regional leaders disseminate information about preventing Covid-19 through their respective social media by relying ...on access to information technology and social media owned by regional leaders. This research aims to analyze critical discourse based on Teun van Dijk's method which is divided into microstructure, superstructure and microstructure aspects. The method used in this research is a qualitative descriptive method with the type of research in the form of library research or library research which focuses on documentary analysis which refers to on the Instagram posts of regional heads Wahidin Halim (Governor of Banten Province) @wh_wahidinhalim, Anies Baswedan (Governor of DKI Jakarta) @aniesbaswedan, Ridwan Kamil (Governor of West Java) @ridwankamil, Ganjar Pranowo (Governor of Central Java) @ganjar_pranowo, and Khofifah Indar Parawansa ( Governor of East Java) @khofifah.ip. The results of research in critical discourse analysis according to Teun A. Van Djik's model are divided into three aspects, namely macro structure, superstructure and micro structure. This aspect can be found in social media posts with the same pattern, so it can be concluded that the aspect of critical discourse analysis in Instagram posts during the Covid-19 pandemic was that regional heads (governors) gave recommendations and appeals to the public to comply with health protocols and reduce activities outside the home.
The COVID-19 pandemic significantly impacts the educational process in schools in Indonesia. Online learning schemes are applied as an alternative to learning during the COVID-19 pandemic. This ...research aims to map effective patterns of parental guidance during the online learning process amid the COVID-19 pandemic. Using a mixed scheme between case study and literature study methods, this literature study was carried out by analyzing previous studies on the topic “parental guidance pattern” and “online learning during a pandemic”. Data were sourced from several relevant articles published from 2020 to 2021. The data were then analyzed using interactively, quantitatively, and biometric methods with the VOSviewer application. The data analysis showed that the pattern of parental guidance must be tailored to the child's needs. In online learning, parents serve as facilitators, motivators, supervisors, and guides. The level of children's education also affects the pattern of parental guidance. In addition, communication between teachers and parents must also be well established so that the learning process can function effectively and efficiently and achieve optimal learning outcomes.

Dakwah refers to the spreading of Islam and its teachings through various means. Dongkrek, meanwhile, is a traditional artform with Islamic literary value that has been used as a medium for dakwah. ...This study seeks to describe and explore dongkrek as an artform with Islamic literary value and its use as a medium for dakwah in Madiun Regency. It is a qualitative study, which takes as its case study a dongkrek troupe from Madiun Regency. The main source of data for this study is the dongkrek performance itself; supporting data has been collected from texts and informants. Data collection involved observations, library research, and in-depth interviews with informants. For this study, data analysis was conducted using content analysis and interactive analysis. This study finds that dongkrek is an Islamic literary artform said to have been created by R. Bei Lo Prawirodipuro in 1910. It may be considered an Islamic artform as the lyrics used in performances convey Islamic teachings; it is through these lyrics that Islamic values are conveyed to audiences as a form of dakwah. It is shown that dakwah and dongkrek are complementary, ensuring both the innovativeness of dakwah and the survival of dongkrek. It may thus be said that dongkrek is both a spectator and guiding medium. Penelitian berbentuk penelitian kualitatif dengan pendekatan studi kasus. Studi kasus dilakukan pada kelompok kesenian dongkrek yang ada di Kabupaten Madiun. Sumber data utama dalam penelitian ini adalah bentuk pementasan dongkrek. Sumber data pendukung adalah teks dan informan. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan observasi, studi pustaka, dan wawancara mendalam dengan informan. Teknik analisis data dalam penelitian ini menggunakan content analysis dan analisis interaktif. Dari hasil penelitian ditemukan bahwa kesenian dongkrek termasuk dalam sastra Islam yang diciptakan oleh R. Bei Lo Prawirodipuro tahun 1910. Disebut kesenian sastra Islam karena dalam kesenian dongkrek terdapat lirik lagu yang memuat tentang ajaran agama Islam. Kesenian dongkrek digunakan sebagai media dakwah dengan mengajarkan syi’ar kepada masyarakat melalui pementasan seni dan budaya. Hal ini seperti yang dilakukan oleh walisongo. Hubungan antara dakwah dan dongkrek adalah saling menguntungkan yaitu pembaruan dalam bidang dakwah serta pelesarian dalam bidang budaya. This study aims to investigate the differences in e-learning adoption among university students in Indonesia, Albania, Russia, and Kazakhstan and examine the role of cultural dimensions in explaining ...these differences. This research draws upon Hofstede’s Cultural Dimensions Theory to explore the impact of culture on e-learning adoption in diverse global contexts. A cross-sectional survey was conducted with a sample of university students from the four countries, and the data were analyzed using structural equation modeling (SEM) and multi-group analysis (MGA) techniques. The findings reveal significant differences in e-learning adoption among the four countries, with learner engagement, learning satisfaction, and technology accessibility exhibiting varying levels of influence on e-learning adoption. The multi-group analysis indicates that cultural dimensions partially explain these differences, highlighting the importance of considering cultural factors when examining e-learning adoption in diverse settings. This study fills a gap in cross-cultural e-learning research, offering key insights into factors shaping students’ adoption of online platforms worldwide. The findings emphasize the importance of cultural considerations for educators, policymakers, and e-learning developers in global higher education. This study contributes to the theoretical understanding of the complex interplay between culture and e-learning adoption by demonstrating the explanatory power of cultural dimensions. This article aims to determine the impact of education management reforms on school autonomy in encouraging collaboration and competition between schools conducted in Jakarta, Bogor, and Bekasi. This ...qualitative case study research was conducted over two months using data collection techniques through interviews, observation, and documentation. Semi-structured face-to-face interviews were conducted with 12 school principals in Jakarta, Bogor, and Bekasi, who were selected using purposeful sampling. Data analysis used triangulation techniques. The results showed that government decisions related to school autonomy and similar matters significantly influence relationships (collaboration and competition) between schools. The implications of these findings trigger a discussion on the impact of education management reforms aimed at increasing school autonomy in the context of school-to-school relationships. This study showed that educational management associated with school autonomy significantly influences relationships between schools. Decreasing the role of the state and increasing school autonomy exert different effects on school-to-school relationships depending on the governance model adopted. This study also shows that the experience of school collaboration and competition depends largely on the current policy of reorganizing school networks in cities and districts.
