Data on the potential generation of energy from wind, solar and biomass is crucial for analysing their development, as it sets the limits on how much additional capacity it is feasible to install. ...This paper presents the methodologies used for the development of ENSPRESO, ENergy System Potentials for Renewable Energy SOurces, an EU-28 wide, open dataset for energy models on renewable energy potentials, at national and regional levels for the 2010–2050 period. In ENSPRESO, coherent GIS-based land-restriction scenarios are developed. For wind, resource evaluation also considers setback distances, as well as high resolution geo-spatial wind speed data. For solar, potentials are derived from irradiation data and available area for solar applications. Both wind and solar have separately a potential electricity production which is equivalent to three times the EU's 2016 electricity demand, with wind onshore and solar requiring 16% and 1.4% of total land, respectively. For biomass, agriculture, forestry and waste sectors are considered. Their respective sustainable potentials are equivalent to a minimum 10%, 1.5% and 1% of the total EU primary energy use. ENSPRESO can enrich the results of any energy model (e.g. JRC-EU-TIMES) by improving its analyses of the competition and complementarity of energy technologies.

Access to international markets will be an important factor in investment decisions for firms engaging in the research and development of agricultural biotechnology. International market access can ...be restricted in two ways: the imposition of trade barriers and intellectual property piracy. This paper develops a model of the enforcement game between a developing country=s government and a foreign biotechnology firm to examine the efficacy of the World Trade Organization=s Agreement on Trade Related Aspects of Intellectual Property Rights (TRIPS) agreement for the protection of intellectual property in agricultural biotechnology. The conclusion is that the TRIPS is unlikely to provide sufficient protection and, thus, will lead to suboptimal levels of investment.
L'accès aux marchés étrangers jouera un rôle capital dans les décisions des entreprises qui souhaitent investir dans la recherche et le développement en biotechnologie agricole. Deux éléments peuvent entraver l'accès au marché international: les barrières commerciales et le piratage de la propriété intellectuelle. Dans cet article, les auteurs modélisent les interactions entre le gouvernement d'un pays en développement et une entreprise de biotechnologie étrangère en vue d'établir dans quelle mesure l'Accord sur les ADPIC de l'OMC protège la propriété intellectuelle dans le secteur de la biotechnologie agricole. De cet exercice, ils concluent que la protection assurée par l'Accord sur les ADPIC est insuffisante, donc qu'on assistera à des investissements inférieurs aux investissements optimaux.

Types of services needed, professional scope ...of practice issues, and the role of the ADA in the evolution of rehabilitation psychology are discussed. Functional hierarchies for training, based on a model of consultative practice are presented. The hierarchical model describes three levels of practice and the specific functions related to each level: Level 1 involves rehabilitation principles, knowledge, and functions; Level 2, disability concepts, function, and knowledge; and Level 3, ADA knowledge and functions. Implications for short- and long-term training, as well as selected ADA resources for psychologists are provided.

Algorithm and program was created in MATLAB environment by using splines and which is intended for interpolation of electric field potential created by electronic optical system (EOS). Initial ...electric potential distribution may be known at the nodes of regular or irregular coordinate mesh and potential values can be found at any selected point of space, at the nodes of regular coordinate mesh and in other similar cases with the help of interpolation. Electric potential distribution in regular coordinate mesh is used during modeling of electron trajectories when designing color TV-tubes. Created algorithm and program can be used in order to interpolate not only theoretical potential or potential created by EOS, but also to solve other interpolation problems. Using finite element method, model of design of electronic optical system was made. Libraries of electronic optical system components and presumable electron trajectories were made. Analysis of ...finite element mesh creation was completed and finite element mesh spacing was determined in the zones of presumable electron trajectories. There are presented analysis of different electron trajectories in electric, magnetic and electromagnetic fields calculation methods, on purpose to determine accuracy and calculation terms. Three methods are analyzed: coordinate method, time method and step method. Electron gun electron trajectories calculation and visualization program is created using MATLAB. There is presented electric field analytical model: electrical field potential is approximated using power polynomial and polynomial coefficients are interpolated by spline junctions. Electric field linearity feature is used to reduce calculation term. 5D interpolation is used in order to reduce calculation term
