This paper aims to construct a resource base for adult online education using a multimodal fusion basis. The fusion processing methods of knowledge resources incorporate temporal and non-temporal ...feature learning. This paper proposes a process for constructing a multimodal subject knowledge space that can aid educators in organizing and presenting multimodal teaching content effectively. Also, the operation process of each major functional module of the adult online education resource library, including the online teaching process, online learning process and online resource production process, is studied in detail. Finally, the performance test of optimizing small file storage, the performance test of de-duplication of redundant data of learning resources and the stress test were conducted on the constructed resource library. The study concluded that the resource memory occupancy of the computer class was reduced by 0.35 after the de-duplication process, and in the stress test, the login response time was less than 8 seconds, and the average CPU utilization of the database server was <50%.
An ultra-high strength dual-phase steel with main components 0.16C–1.38Si–3.20Mn was produced by cold rolling followed by intercritical heat treatment. Influences of different annealing temperatures ...on the mechanical properties were investigated, focusing on the development of localized deformation as well as crack initiation and propagation. The work hardening behavior of tested steels after annealing was analyzed in terms of the modified C–J analysis. The experimental results indicate that the microstructures of all the tested steels contain ferrite and martensite. Annealing at 800°C, the best comprehensive performance with a yield strength of 873MPa, tensile strength of 1483MPa, total elongation of 11% and yield ratio of 0.58 was achieved. Besides, the mechanisms of damage taking place in the ferrite and crack initiating at the interface between the ferrite and martensite have been observed. The crack initiating perpendicular to the lath of the martensite and then following at or near the narrowest part of a martensite ligament have also been observed. The original crack propagation exhibits a transgranular fracture feature.
In this paper, we study the inferences of the difference of medians for two independent log-normal distributions. These methods include traditional methods such as the parametric bootstrap approach, ...the normal approximation approach, the method of variance estimates recovery approach, and the generalized confidence interval approach. The simultaneous confidence intervals for the difference in the median for more than two independent log-normal distributions are also discussed. Our simulation studies evaluate the performances of the proposed confidence intervals in terms of coverage probabilities and average lengths. We find that the parametric bootstrap approach would be a suitable choice for smaller sample sizes for the two independent distributions and multiple independent distributions. However, the method of variance estimates recovery and normal approximation approaches are alternative competitors for constructing simultaneous confidence intervals, especially when the populations have large variance. We also include two practical applications demonstrating the use of the techniques on observed data, where one data set works for the PM2.5 mass concentrations in Bangkapi and Dindaeng in Thailand and the other data came from the study of nitrogen-bound bovine serum albumin produced by three groups of diabetic mice. Both applications show that the confidence intervals from the parametric bootstrap approach have the smallest length.
A new genus and species of thrips, Cenomanithrips primus gen et sp. nov., is described and assigned to the extant family Stenurothripidae of Thysanoptera. The new taxon is established primarily based ...on the following characters: pronotum with lateral, posteromarginal and posteroangular setae; forewing slender, narrow at apex, surface with microtrichia, two longitudinal veins present, only one cross-vein between the two longitudinal veins, with one seta on posterior vein basal to this cross-vein, anterior vein without setae, right forewing posterior vein with three setae, left forewing posterior vein with only one seta; hind wing with one longitudinal vein, fore tarsus 2-segmented, without a hamus and the terminal abdominal segment is not tube-like. The new amber thrips is the first fossil record of Stenurothripidae in Myanmar (Burmese) amber hitherto, dating to the mid-Cretaceous. Other fossil records of Stenurothripidae are in the Lower Cretaceous Spanish and Lebanese amber, in the Eocene Baltic, Bitterfeld and Rovno amber, and in the Miocene Bitterfeld amber. This new finding not only broadens the distribution and diversity of fossil Stenurothripidae, but also provides important morphological characters to enhance our understanding of the early evolutionary development of the Stenurothripidae.
The linking of ethacrynic acid with ethylenediamine and 1,4-butanediamine gave EDEA and BDEA, respectively, as membrane-permeable divalent pro-inhibitors of glutathione S-transferase (GST). Their ...divalent glutathione conjugates showed subnanomolar inhibition and divalence-binding to GSTmu (GSTM) (PDB: 5HWL) at ∼0.35 min

. In cisplatin-resistant SK-OV-3, COC1, SGC7901 and A549 cells, GSTM activities probed by 15 nM BDEA or EDEA revealed 5-fold and 1.0-fold increases in cisplatin-resistant SK-OV-3 and COC1 cells, respectively, in comparison with the susceptible parental cells. Being tolerable by HEK293 and LO2 cells, BDEA at 0.2 μM sensitised resistant SK-OV-3 and COC1 cells by ∼3- and ∼5-folds, respectively, released cytochrome c and increased apoptosis; EDEA at 1.0 μM sensitised resistant SK-OV-3 and A549 cells by ∼5- and ∼7-fold, respectively. EDEA at 1.7 μg/g sensitised resistant SK-OV-3 cells to cisplatin at 3.3 μg/g in nude mouse xenograft model. BDEA and EDEA are promising leads for probing cellular GSTM and sensitising cisplatin-resistant ovarian cancers.
The whole chloroplast genome of Styrax macrocarpus, an endemic species distributed in China, is determined in this study. The whole chloroplast genome size is 157,805 bp in length, containing a large ...single-copy region (LSC, 87,628 bp) and a small single-copy region (SSC, 18,267 bp), which were separated by a pair of inverted repeats (IRs, 25,955 bp). One hundred thirty one genes were detected from this genome, including 85 protein-coding genes, 38 transfer RNA genes, and 8 ribosomal RNA genes. The phylogenetic analysis suggested that the S. macrocarpus is closely clustered with S. japonicus with strong support values.

Marketing scholars often compare groups that occur naturally (e.g., socioeconomic status) or due to random assignment of participants to study conditions. These scholars often report group means, ...standard deviations, and effect sizes. Although such summary information can be helpful, it can misinform marketing practitioners’ decisions. To avoid this problem, scholars should also report the probability that one group’s member will score higher than another group’s member, and by various amounts. In this vein, newly conceived gain-probability diagrams can depict relevant, concise, and easy-to-comprehend probabilistic information. These diagrams’ nuanced perspective can contradict traditional significance test and effect size implications.
A new generalization of the exponential distribution, namely the generalized mixture of exponential distribution, is introduced. Some of its basic properties, such as hazard function, moments, order ...statistics, mean deviation, measures of uncertainly, and reliability probability, are studied. Three different estimation methods are investigated by the maximum likelihood estimator, least-square estimator, and weighted least-square estimator. The performances of the estimators are assessed by simulation studies. Real-world applications of the proposed distribution are explored, and data fitting results show that the new distribution performs better than its competitors.
