It has been reported that green tea polyphenol (e.g. (-)-epigallocatechin-3-gallate, EGCg)can inhibit human MCF-7 breast cancer cell growth via the signal transduction pathways to ...modify the activity of fatty acid synthesis. In addition, EGCg has been shown to cause inhibition of tumor cell growth by altering the lipid compositions on cell membranes such as to induce the lipid raft associated with membrane receptors including human estrogen receptor (HER)and epidermal growth factor receptor(EGFR)in many cancer cells. The main goal of this study was to investigate whether EGCg can inhibit human MCF-7 breast cancer cell proliferation via the membrane-evoked signaling pathway to modulate cytoplasmic Ca2+ homeostasis. Using the MTT assay, EGCg was found to attenuate mitochondria-dependent cell viability of MCF-7 cells. Analyses by using western blot, quantitative real time PCR、and immune-cellular-fluorescence microscopy revealed the chemo-protection of EGCg on inhibition of MCF-7 breast cancer

Abstract
A soil bacterium, Pseudomonas putida SH1, was isolated from a petroleum-contaminated area in Taiwan. In our previously study, the bacterium catabolizes naphthalene, ...phenol, o-, m-, and p-cresol as sole source of carbon and energy to grow. Extradiol dioxygenases, catechol 2,3-dioxygenases (C23Os), involved in the cleavage of aromatic ring were induced when the bacterium was grew in minimal salts basal medium containing individual aromatic compound. Four of them were purified and characterized namely C23Os as C23Onap(SH1), C23OpheI(SH1), C23OpheII(SH1) and C23Oo-cre(SH1).
The specific activities of C23Os induced by 3 isomers of cresol in crude cell extracts from P. putida SH1 was determined towards to catechol and and catabolic derivatives, 3-methylcatechol, 4- methylcatechol and 4-chrolocatechol. It showed the same substrate specificity, suggesting this strain converts o-, m-, and p-cresol to catechol probably by the same C23O.

This study aims to investigate the incentives that make a teacher change teaching methods and the factors of keeping changing by observing an experienced math teacher who used to ...adopt traditional teaching methods. The result can be used to help promote Teachers’ Professional Development in the future.
For research purposes, the adapting of case studies will be used; using interviews, observation, the video recording of the teaching experiment, the feedback sheet from students,, the reflection notes on teaching, data analysis, and other methods to gather information. The gathered information will further be organized, analyzed, and categorized in order to fully understand the incentives and factors that make experienced teachers that adopt traditional teaching methods change their teaching methods.
Based on the result of the research and data analysis, two conclusions of this study are drawn as follows:

In this study, the method for the inspection of optical fiber coupling efficiency and alignment system is presented. The device is applied for three dimensional alignment of ...optical connector module of the standard Intel Light Peak. The database of the relationships of fiber microlens off-axis, tilting and the coupling efficiency is established.
The system uses CCD cameras for real-time monitoring. The coupling efficiency can be calculated from the image processing method. A five-axis precision translation stage is used for a platform. It can be adjusted the axis offset and relative angle to obtain the case of optimal coupling efficiency. With a novel algorithm, the system can determine the direction of off-axis or tilt, to search for the best position of the coupling efficiency. Finally the smallest movement of the translation stage can be obtained in the database of the Light Peak coupling efficiency.
