To facilitate the efficient exploration and development of coalbed methane of the Longtan Formation in the Guxu coal mining area, Sichuan, it is essential to evaluate the reservoir characteristics of ...the main production layers. In this study, scanning electron microscopy, low-temperature liquid nitrogen adsorption experiments, high-pressure mercury pressure experiments, and isothermal adsorption experiments were conducted to investigate the reservoir characteristics of favorable coalbed methane reservoirs. The results indicate that the main coal seams in the Longtan Formation are medium-to-high ash content anthracite with a well-developed pore–fracture system. The pore size distribution exhibits both unimodal and bimodal types, while the pore morphology includes impermeable pores closed at one end, open permeable pores, and ink bottle-shaped pores. It shows that the middle part of Longtan Formation acts as an enrichment zone for coalbed methane, which is characterized by a stronger adsorption capacity, high Langmuir volume, high gas content, and high gas saturation distribution. The pH value, mineralization degree, and hydrogen–oxygen isotope of the produced water in the main coal seams indicate that the enrichment zone is typically located in a stagnant flow zone with a reducing environment and favorable storage conditions.

Carbonate sediments are susceptible to many factors, such as paleostructure, diagenesis, and strong microbial alteration; as such, their sedimentary architecture still calls for further research. In ...this study, the reef and shoal bodies in the XVm and XVp layers of the Middle–Upper Jurassic Karlov-Oxfordian in the S gas field were used as the object, and the architecture of the reef-shoal facies was studied. Based on the idea of “vertical grading and horizontal boundary”, the interface characteristics of the 6th to 4th levels of reef-shoal bodies in the study area were summarized, as were four ways to determine the boundaries of reef-shoal bodies. Based on the dense well network, we quantitatively described the scale of each small layer of single reef shoal body through the point-line-surface method and established a geological database of the reef shoal bodies in the study area. In addition, we established the width and thickness of the reef shoal body and the empirical formula for relationships. The study of morphological characteristics of reef-shoal bodies and the degree of overlap revealed six architecture models of reef-shoal bodies. The vertical and lateral superimposed reefs were obtained by evaluating the reservoir space, pore throat characteristics, and physical property characteristics corresponding to various architecture models. The vertical and lateral superimposed shoals corresponded to large reservoir thicknesses. The petrophysical properties were good, and we concluded that the reef-shoal superimposed area was a sweet spot for reservoir development. We applied the research results of reef-shoal architecture reservoir characteristics to gas field development, and therefore improved well pattern deployment in the reef-shoal superimposed area. By comparing the test results of newly deployed horizontal wells with adjacent vertical wells, we confirmed that the selection of horizontal wells was better for gas field development. This study on the architecture of reef-shoal facies could guide the study of carbonate rock architecture.

The unprecedented power of China and its cultural expansion are increasing the need to examine its hegemonic impact in the field of literature. The new concept of ‘sinophone’, inspired by ...postcolonial criticism, reveals vigorous protests against Mainland’s centrality by advocating Chinese Diaspora literature, which has been too long relegated to a peripheral status. This study seeks to reconsider such debates through investigations of historical reasons, ideological issues, and perspectives they have widened. The sinophone literature is thus set up as a creative space, denationalized as well as transnationalized. Denying both the weight of the matrix and the chimerical archipelago, it follows the poetics of relation, the intermixture, and the Open.
The Songliao Basin is a large Mesozoic–Cenozoic continental basin with multiple sedimentary cycles. It has experienced the influence of multidirectional and different structural stresses in the ...peripheral structural belt, resulting in a complex geological structure. The continental clastic deposits at the depression of the Quantou Formation in the shallow part of the basin, including the Fuyu oil layer and the Yangdachengzi oil layer, are the primary exploration and development target. The structure and faults are the dominant factors controlling the hydrocarbon accumulation in the upper member of the Quantou Formation in the central Songliao Basin. In this study, we finely interpret the three-dimensional structure of the third member of Quantou Formation in the ZY block by the integration of well logging and seismic data and then analyze the stratigraphic distribution and fracture characteristic and the tectonic development history of the Yangdachengzi oil layer. The results show that the Yangdachengzi oil layer is a monoclinic structure from the southeast to northwest. It has four third-level structural units, the Mofantun nose structure, Yumin nose structure, Zhaoyuan nose structure, and Zhaoyuan western nose structure, which form the structure-lithostratigraphic trap zones in the study area, in which a total of 80 traps for the Yangdachengzi oil layer has been identified with the total area of about 58.06 km

. Faults are highly developed in the central depression of the Songliao Basin. The ZY block is dominated by the extensional-strike-slip faults. The main fault direction is mostly north–northeast, and the secondary fault direction is mostly north–northwest. The complex tectonic activities determine the formation mechanism and the evolution of faults. The faults in this block can be classified as early-stage, middle-stage, late-stage, and long-term faults. The long-term fault is the major fault type of the five fault bundles, and it acts as the main channel for oil and gas migration. In addition, the reservoir is an above-generation and below-storage model. This study provides evidence for the hydrocarbon accumulation model of the Quantou Formation.

Utopia and Utopianism in the Contemporary Chinese Context: Texts, Ideas, Spaces decisively demonstrates the extent to which utopianism has shaped political thought, cultural imaginaries, and social ...engagement after it was introduced into the Chinese context in the nineteenth century. In fact, pursuit of utopia has often led to action—such as the Chinese Revolution and the Umbrella Movement—and contested consequences. Covering a time span that goes from the late Qing to our days, the authors show that few ideas have been as influencing as utopia, which has compellingly shaped the imaginaries that underpin China’s historical change. Utopianism contributed to the formation of the Chinese state itself—shaping the thought of key figures of the late Qing and early Republican eras such as Kang Youwei and Sun Yat-sen—and outlived the labyrinthine debates of the second half of the twentieth century, both under Mao’s rule and during the post-socialist era. Even in the current times of dystopian narratives, a period in which utopia seems to be less influential than in the past, its manifestations persistently provide lifelines against fatalism or cynicism. This collection shows how profoundly utopian ideas have nurtured both the thought of crucial figures during these historical times, the new generation of mainland Chinese and Sinophone intellectuals, and the hopes of twenty-first-century Hong Kong activists.
The political concerns underlying Mo Yan’s creative work come to the fore in his latest novel, Frogs (Wa), which gives the reader an unusual perspective on the complex relations between fiction and ...politics. This novel harshly criticises a state whose coercive population control policies are responsible for some murderous consequences. This denunciation is also aimed at the economic ultraliberalism that is complicit with the totalitarian inheritance in destruction of human dignity through the alienation and commercialisation of the body. The complex symbolic structure of this work brings out the need for life itself to be rehabilitated in accordance with basic human rights and membership in the human community, and to be strongly defended against political attack and moral decay. Far from being an essentialist communitarian ethics, however, the bioethics proposed by the author offers the possibility of social reconstruction of the bios.

Contrariamente a las tentaciones de compromiso observadas hasta Occidente, los escritores y artistas chinos intentan frustrar las narrativas nacionales constantemente renovadas, gracias al poder crítico de la imaginación, transgresora y desmitificadora. Se está formulando una contraficción política, con diversas inspiraciones geográficas, que dibuja un territorio del despertar, en contraste con el sueño orquestado de renovación para una nación centrada en sí misma y expansionista.
