...though we learn something of the beginning, middle, and end of this story of abuse and self-determination, the ominous last line of "My History As" is a reminder that escape is hardly ever a ...straight line: "I learned to counter like a torn edge / frayed from the damp. Frayed, leading, necessarily incomplete; in form a number of the poems seem to end like this, circling back the way predatory birds and abusive relationships do. Within these lines the surreal provides cover, protection as we near a certain disquieting truth: that the spectrum of violence-physical, emotional, generational-is often entangled with love in ways not easily swallowed.
Russell, Robinson, and Norman J. Wagner (all, Univ. of Delaware) deviate fundamentally from the traditional approach in this work, which is part of the "Cambridge Series in Chemical Engineering." Da fløtinga i Glomma ble avviklet i 1985 ble det ordnet slik at fellesfløtingsforeningens arkivsaker ble overlatt til Riksarkivet, som valgte å fortsette å oppbevare dem i det eksisterende arkivrommet i Fellesfløtingsforeningens administrasjon på Fetsund. Medarbeidere ved det den gang nye lensemuseet på Fetsund og amanuensis Øivind Vestheim fra Norsk Skogbruksmuseum samarbeidet om ordning av papirarkivene. Fotosamlinga fra Glomma fellesfløtingsforening ble overført til daværende Norsk Skogbruksmuseum i Elverum. Materialet består av 72 album. Museumsfotograf OT Ljøstad har reprodusert de fleste av opptakene i dette materialet og skrevet negativnummere i albumene han har utført repro fra. Det finnes også originalnegativer til en del av motivene.
