Abstract The aim of this study was to evaluate the cytotoxic and genotoxic potential of the wastewater (WW), the effectiveness of the treatment used by the wastewater treatment plant (WWTP) with ...sequential batch reactors (SBR) technology, and whether its final treated effluent (FTE) can compromise the water quality of the river at the location where it is discharged. We focused our research on six examples. For analytical chemistry and Allium metaphase (M) test all six samples were collected. Of these, three are so-called biotechnological patterns (WW, WW after mechanical step treatment and FTE), and three are natural riverine environmental patterns. For the micronucleus (MN) test, fish specimens were collected from three sites in the river Kamniška Bistrica. The first two sites locations are up and down the FTE outlet. Results from these areas were compared to the third site (not polluted) reference site, the so-called natural control group. Complementary study with analytical chemistry and biological tests shows that the treatment effect SBR in the Domžale–Kamnik central WWTP carried effectively proved to be efficient for the removal of the cytogenotoxic substances in treated effluent and consequently in aquatic environment.

Po združitvi z naselji Depala vas in Šentpavel so postale mesto. ...Problemi in možnosti pri oblikovanju mestnega središča Domžal niso omejeni le na središče, ampak so povezani s položajem Domžal v urbani konurbaciji ljubljanske mestne regije. Intervencije v domžalskem širšem in ožjem prostoru bi morali načrtovati na osnovi komplementarnosti, ki potencial mesta in njegovo identiteto povečuje, ne pa na osnovi konkurenčnosti. Pri oblikovanju, načrtovanju in izvajanju preureditve središča Domžal je potrebno naprej preveriti vpliv vsaj treh omrežij v prostoru: cestnega omrežja, omrežja javnega prometa in programskega omrežja.
Domžale is a town without a historic core. It transformed by integrating four former independent vilaages: Stoba, Štude, Upper and Lower Domžale. After joining with the settlements Depala vas and ...Šentpavel it became a town. The problems and possibilities of designing the town centre of Domžale are not limited to its centre, but are connected to the position of Domžale within the urban conurbation of the Ljubjana metropolitan region. In the case of Domžale intervention in the wider and closer area should be based on complementarity that increase the potentials of the town and its identity, rather than competitiveness. In the design, planning and execution of redesigning the town centre at least three spatial networks have to be examined beforehand: the road network, the network of public transport and the network of programmes.
V prispevku so prikazani procesi spreminjanj struktur naselbinskih sistemov Evrope in Slovenije. Predpostavke, ki jih je potrebno upoštevati kot izhodišča razvoja urbanega sistema sledijo posameznim ...ravnem diskurza, od evropske prek državne ali regijske ravni do lokalne. Tako je tudi usmerjanje urbanizacije različno za različne ravni. Prikazana sta dva primera usmerjanja procesov urbanizacije na lokalni ravni, za ljubljansko funkcionalno urbano regijo in občino Domžale. Prispevek zaključujejo razmišljanja o ukrepih in instrumentih izvajanja politik urbanega razvoja.
The article presents processes of changes in the structure of settlement systems in Europe and Slovenia. Hypotheses that have to be given adequate respect as starting points in the development of the ...urban system follow particular levels of discourse, from the European and national, regional level to the local level. Thus directing urbanisation is different on different levels. Two examples of directing urbanisation processes on the local level are presented, for the functional urban region of Ljubljana and the municipality of Domžale. In conclusion ideas about measures and instruments for achieving urban development policies are shown.
