The Joint Action on CARdiovascular diseases and DIabetes (JACARDI) aims to reduce the burden of cardiovascular disease and diabetes in European countries, both at the individual and societal levels. ...The initiative covers the entire patient journey, from improving health literacy and awareness of cardiovascular diseases and diabetes, travelling through primary prevention among high-risk populations and screenings, reaching people living with cardiovascular diseases and diabetes, improving service pathways, self-management, and labour participation. The project involves 21 European countries, 76 partners and plans to implement 142 pilot interventions, ensuring diversity in terms of cultural backgrounds, public health priorities, and healthcare systems.
In Slovenia, interventions will be developed and tested to improve screening for diabetes through community involvement, the involvement of people with diabetes in education programmes in health centres, and the involvement of people with diabetes in a screening programme for diabetic retinopathy. A set of unified, comprehensive and integrated health education materials and approaches will be developed for both healthcare providers and patients referred to the outpatient cardiovascular rehabilitation programme. The effectiveness of the upgraded health education intervention will be tested in a randomized trial. Furthermore, Slovenian experts are involved in developing a harmonized implementation methodology across all 142 pilot interventions, including contextual analysis at the country and pilot levels, multidimensional assessment and evaluation.
JACARDI will enhance cross-national collaboration, maximizing the exploitation of lessons learned through a clear strategy, promoting the integration and sustainability of approaches to achieve high-level impact, including the implementation of effective interaction, cooperation and co-creation between science and policy.

I přes pokračující investice a postupný ...rozvoj se železniční nákladní doprava ve střední Evropě potýká s řadou významných omezujících faktorů. Výzkumným záměrem tohoto příspěvku je s použitím analýzy dostupných zdrojů informací, poukázat na faktory omezující růst výkonnosti železniční nákladní přepravy a identifikovat oblasti pro možná zlepšení. Nástrojem použitým k hodnocení výkonnosti železničních nákladních dopravců v regionu střední Evropy je metoda benchmarkingu. Příspěvek poukazuje na přetrvávající rozdíly ve výkonnosti železničních nákladních dopravců působících ve střední Evropě.
Fascists presents a theory of fascism based on intensive analysis of the men and women who became fascists. It covers the six European countries in which fascism became most dominant - Italy, ...Germany, Austria, Hungary, Romania and Spain. It is a comprehensive analysis of who fascists actually were, what beliefs they held and what actions they committed. The book suggests that fascism was essentially a product of post World War I conditions in Europe and is unlikely to re-appear in its classic garb in the future. Nonetheless, elements of its ideology remain relevant to modern conditions and are now re-appearing, though mainly in different parts of the world.
The volume Historični seminar 14 ('Historical Seminar 14'), issued in the time of transformed reality of what we knew and took for granted, draws attention to the fact that the image we cultivate of ...ourselves and our history may sometimes be too simplified to be entirely real. At first, the volume both revises already known chapters of Church history and introduces hitherto unknown ones. Simon Malmenvall’s analysis of the characters of the noble martyrs Boris and Gleb, Jovan Vladimir, and Magnus Erlendsson shows how the stories of their martyrdom had a nation-building function. Celeste McNamara’s article on Giovanni Barbarigo introduces the unusual and less well-known topic of seventeenth-century missions. Monika Deželak Trojar analyzes in detail Johann Ludwig Schönleben’s German and Latin Lenten sermons. Aleš Maver’s article discusses why Latin disappeared so quickly from Slovenian churches after the Second Vatican Council. On the other hand, the pre-modern religious practices of nature worshippers in Slovenia are discussed by Cirila Toplak. Modern times and also more political issues are examined by Tomaž Ivešić who focuses on the increase in ethnic tensions in Yugoslavia in the early 1970s, while Aleksandar Takovski traces the historical representation of heroic figures in four former Yugoslav countries.
Zánik bipolárního světa a zhroucení komunistických režimů vyvolalo nebývalou mobilitu lidí a předznamenalo novou fázi evropských migrací. Východoevropanům se již nenabízela pouze „svoboda odejít“ na ...Západ, nyní mohli „svobodně odejít a vrátit se“. V tomto textu se zaměřím na genderované transnacionální, přeshraniční praktiky a schopnosti Středoevropanů a Východoevropanů, kteří jsou takzvaně v pohybu a kteří využívají svou prostorovou mobilitu k přizpůsobení se novému kontextu postkomunistické transformace. Zabýváme se zde praktikami, které se velice liší od těch, jichž se většinou týká literatura o „přistěhovaleckém transnacionalismu“. Místo toho, aby spoléhali na vytváření transnacionálních sítí jako prostředku zlepšení svých podmínek v zemích svého usazení, mají tito lidé sklon „usazovat se v rámci mobility“ a zůstat pohybliví „tak dlouho, jak můžou“, aby zlepšili anebo zachovali životní úroveň doma. Zkušenost migrace se tak stává jejich životním stylem, jejich opouštění domova a odchod pryč paradoxně strategií zůstávání doma, a tudíž alternativou k tomu, za co se migrace obvykle považuje – k emigraci/imigraci. Přístup k mobilitě a její řízení jsou genderované a závislé na institucionálním rámci. Mobilita coby strategie může posilňovat, představovat zdroj a nástroj sociálních inovací a jednání a také důležitý rozměr sociálního kapitálu – pokud nad ní mají migranti kontrolu. Mobilita může ovšem odrážet i zvýšené závislosti, nárůst počtu nejistých pracovních míst a absenci pohybu a svobody, jako je tomu v případě obchodu se ženami.
