In this contribution we deal with the presence of lexemes originating from the Italian language or its dialects in the articles in the Montenegrin literary magazine
, which was published in Cetinje ...during the second half of 1885. Besides the Montenegrin authors, other writers using different variants of the Shtokavian dialect also published their works in this journal, in which the translations of nine foreign authors were printed as well. Our first goal is to determine the similarities and differences in the presence of Italianisms conditioned by the author’s origin. Considering the greater exposure of the language in Montenegro to the influence of Italian and its dialects, it can be assumed that the Italian lexical component might be more present in the articles by Montenegrin authors than in the literary works of those who used other variants of Shtokavian. In addition, we want to verify whether the type of literary text affected the presence of Italianisms, starting from the assumption that the lexicon of Italian origin is more widely present in prose works that deal with topics related to everyday life than in poetry or in texts of a professional nature. Finally, we aim to determine to what extent the Italian lexis registered in our corpus is present in the dictionaries of Italianisms in Montenegrin vernaculars, is it adapted in the same way, and whether it appears with the same meaning or tends to present certain meaning variations.
This study investigates the presence of lexical terms of Italian origin in the Diccionario de la Lengua de la Argentina (DiLA), a differential lexicographical work that exclusively records the words ...and meanings of the local variety. These are Italianisms which, originating mainly from Italian immigration to Latin America in the 19th and 20th centuries, began to make up in different ways the common speech of Argentines, especially the inhabitants of Buenos Aires. Their study takes on new importance today in the light of the continuous exchanges between Argentina and Italy, which have continued to influence Argentinean Spanish throughout the last century until the post-modern era, in which social networks, the media and renewed socio-cultural, economic-political and tourist contacts also play a central role in the maintenance and adoption of new terms. Finally, to complete the work, the entries marked as Italianisms in DiLA are compared with the lexical borrowings already collected in the studies by Meo Zilio (1970) and Cancellier (1996), in order to verify the presence and use of neo-Italianisms not detected in those studies.
The analysis of Italianisms in Martin Benetović’s Renaissance play Hvarkinja shows that the characters’ way of speaking reflects the structure of social relations of the period. Apart from creating ...the comic effect, language is used as indicator of the speakers’ social status. This tendency is most visible in the usage of Italianisms. Italianisms as signs of cultural prestige are used by the upper-class characters and they are not present in the lines spoken by the peasants. The paper analyses the adaptation of Italianisms on the phonological, morphological and semantic levels and discusses the syntactic and phraseological calques and code switching.
This is a study of the Italianisms we have detected in the only work of Caelius Rhodiginus, Lectiones Antiquae or Antiquarum Lectionum Libri (1st ed. with 16 books 1516; 1st ed. with 30 books 1542). Firstly we present very shortly this work, so little known nowadays, but very successfully at its time all over Europe; secondly there are presented the texts containing these words in a Spanish translation, with a subsequent commentary on each of the Italianisms, with a special remark on its etymology and on its use (common, dialectal, vulgarism, jargon,...).

The aim of the present study is to investigate some manifestations of language contact between Italian and Russian, and in particular lexical Italianisms acquired indirectly by passing from other ...European languages and then into Russian. Special attention is paid to methodological issues, in order to locate the study of lexical contact phenomena between Italian and Russian within the broader field of the study of Italianisms in other European languages.
