Introduction
Reduced tongue pressure may render eating and swallowing difficult. The purpose of this study was to investigate whether the tongue training device can also be used as a diagnostic ...device and whether its sensitivity and specificity are equal to the numerical tongue pressure measuring device.
Material and Methods
The target group is patients aged 70 years and over who are hospitalised for rehabilitation. Tongue pressure was measured by both, a tongue pressure measuring instrument and a tongue training tool. The diagnosis of the reduced tongue pressure was made with the tongue pressure measuring instrument and set the verified with the novel tongue training tool.
Results
Sixty‐two participants were included in the study. Forty‐five were classified by the tongue pressure measuring device and 53 by the tongue training device as ‘low tongue pressure’. Spearman correlation confirmed a positive correlation between the tongue pressure measuring device and the tongue training device rs = 0.800, p = 0.01 level (2‐tailed). The tongue training device test identified sensitivity was 100%, and its specificity was 52.9%. The AUC of the ROC curve is 0.901.
Conclusion
The tongue training device seems a simple, safe and readily available alternative to the tongue pressure measuring device for the diagnosis of low tongue pressure, with an excellent sensitivity and very good specificity.
Le présent article analyse la situation de l’agriculture et de l’alimentation chez les populations déplacées du Mont Péko. En effet, la crise militaro-politique déclenchée en Côte d’Ivoire en ...septembre 2002 a favorisé l’occupation illégale de la forêt classée du Mont Péko par des dizaines de milliers de personnes constituées majoritairement de ressortissants Burkinabé. Ces populations y ont développé des plantations de cacaoyer, qui ont entrainé la destruction de près de 80% de cette aire protégée. Mais, avec la fin de la crise politique en 2011, et dans le souci de protéger le parc naturel et garantir la paix et la sécurité dans l’ouest de la Côte d’Ivoire, ces populations ont été contraintes de quitter la forêt pour s’installer dans les villages aux alentours du parc. L’enquête réalisée auprès d’un échantillon de 200 individus a permis de comprendre que la majorité des déplacés internes du Mont Péko n’a pas accès à de nouvelles terres de culture. Ces populations ne peuvent donc pas garantir la sécurité de leur alimentation et celle de leur famille. Elles se retrouvent ainsi dans un environnement où la pression foncière alimente les crises et les tensions communautaires, qui fragilisent la cohabitation entre autochtones et allogènes.
Political Crisis, Land pressure, and Food Security in the Outskirts of the Classified Forests of Mount Peko.This article analyzes the agricultural situation and the food crisis faced by the displaced populations of the Mont Péko. Indeed, the military and political crisis launched in Côte d’Ivoire in September 2002 has favored the illegal occupation of the classified forest of the Mount Péko by tens of thousands of people mainly constituted by Burkinabe nationals. These populations have developed cocoa tree plantations, which entailed the destruction of about 80% of this protected area. But, with the end of the political crisis in 2011, and in order to protect the natural park and to guarantee peace and security in the West of the Côte d’Ivoire, these populations have been forced to leave the forest to get settled in the peripheral villages of the park. A survey on a sample of 200 individuals has permitted to figure out that the majority of the inner population of the Mont Peko does not have access to new cultivating grounds. Therefore, the food safety of these populations and of their families cannot be guaranteed. Thus, they are involved in an environment where the land property crisis and intercommunity tensions weaken the cohabitation between natives and foreigners.

Iron ore is one of Australia's biggest export industries. This is probably due to 2 men: Lang Hancock and Charles Copeman. Hancock's story is well known. In 1961, he proved Casey wrong by sighting, ...from the sky, iron ore in the Pilbara, in massive quantities and close to ports. Less well known is Copeman's role in dismantling the union stronghold at Robe River, when he was chief executive at Peko. He carved out a space in which the companies could begin to open the dialogue between management and workers without the interference of the arbitration system and the unions.

Iako je o filozofskim učilištima u Hrvatskoj više puta pisano, još uvijek su nedovoljno istražena. U članku se iznose najosnovnije činjenice o jednom zaboravljenom trogodišnjem filozofskom studiju iz ...osamnaestoga stoljeća. Njegovi počeci sežu u dvadesete godine toga stoljeća, dok je samostan u Zaostrogu bio u sastavu prostrane franjevačke provincije Bosne Srebrene koja je sezala od Budima do Jadrana. Na njemu je 1730–1733. predavao pisaac kasnijega filozofskog školskoga priručnika i jedan od najpoznatijih pučkih pjesnika fra Andrija Kačić Miošić. Nakon 1735. učilište djeluje u sastavu nove Provincije sv. Kaja pape i mučenika, odnosno Provincije Presvetoga Otkupitelja. Među kasnijim lektorima bez sumnje je najpoznatiji kontroverzni fra Luka Vladmirović, pisac dvadesetak knjižica različita sadržaja. Veliki dio lektora toga učilišta, naročito u prvoj polovici XVIII. stoljeća, završio je svoj studij u inozemstvu i stekao zavidnu filozofsku naobrazbu. Nemirne prilike toga doba nisu dopustile da dublje razviju svoju misao i objave djela. Daljnja će proučavanja možda pokazati da je veliki dio njihovih pisanih školskih priručnika gotovo plagijat, bez izvornosti, no obrazovna vrijednost tih priručnika vjerojatno se neće moći zanijekati, kao ni obrazovna uspješnost lektora i studenata. Prvi udarac učilištu zadala je desetgodišnja mletačka zabrana primanja mladića u redovništvo od koje se učilište nije oporavilo ni kad je država dopustila primanje u ograničenom broju. Drugi jednako težak udarac učilište je pretrpjelo u francusko-austrijskim sukobima početkom XIX. stoljeća. Tako oslabljeno učilište prestalo je djelovati dvadesetih godina XIX. stoljeća, da bi se ponovno otvorilo nakon što je školovan novi kadar na državnim sveučilištima.
