Enciklika Fides et ratio, oslonjena na tomističku filozofsku misao, propituje odnos vjere i razuma i ističe nužnost filozofije za specifične teološke discipline. No, misaoni dosezi enciklike sežu ...puno dalje. Cilj je ovoga rada pokazati da se sve znanosti mogu shvatiti kao praeambula fidei i da je enciklika u cjelini poziv na dijalog, ne samo između filozofije i teologije, već i s drugim znanostima. U tom se smislu, enciklika pokazuje važnom za današnje doba, tzv. STEM doba, jer otkriva važnost svih znanosti i smješta ih u širi kontekst, te ih, ističući autonomiju njihova traganja za istinom, pokazuje neizostavnim sudionicima dijaloga s teologijom i filozofijom.
The encyclical Fides et ratio is based on Thomistic philosophical thought. It questions the relationship between faith and reason and emphasizes the necessity of philosophy for specific theological disciplines. However, in this research we show that the encyclical’s thinking reaches far beyond. The analysis of the text of chapter six has shown that the encyclical emphasizes that (1) faith cannot give up reason, which limits itself from fideism. Also (2) that reason by faith strengthens itself to reach the goals it could not achieve, which represents (a) moving away from rationalism and scientism, and (b) giving reason a dimension of openness to the divine nature, revealing it as a link between nature and the divine nature. However, on the line of Thomistic thought the encyclical adds (1) that there are some truths that can be learned naturally, on the independent path of rational inquiry that does not have to divert from one’s own principles and autonomy, and that (2) the knowledge of these truths necessarily precedes the acceptance of God’s revelation. These truths represent the path of preparation for faith. Furthermore, relying on Aquinas’s metaphysic, psychology and philosophy of mind, the encyclical stresses that grace perfects nature (FR, no. 75) and that there is distinction between two lines of cognition (FR, no. 54). But these two lines of cognition are not mutually exclusive, but complementary and revealing (a) that the search for a natural foundation of meaning is one of the most important points of this encyclical and (b) the necessity of a dialogue between theology and philosophy. However, among the autonomous natural paths of cognition, which are defined by the term »the path of preparation for the faith«, which refers to the medieval term »praeambula fidei« (FR, no. 67), we also recognize the sciences that aim at natural cognition. Thus, the reach of the encyclical is expanded. Therefore, we conclude that the encyclical Fides et ratio places all sciences (a) in a broader context, and points to their significance; and (b) emphasizes their autonomy in the search for truth; and (c) at the same time reveals them as needed participants in the dialogue with theology and philosophy. Every science with its autonomy is an antecedent to the faith and that fact is a call for dialogue, which is clearly defined in Gaudium et spes number 36. This dialogue should be realized on an ontological, epistemological and ethical level. The connection in dialogue between theology and other sciences is philosophy. This, however, stead Lambert, sets before us the task of designing higher education institutions which can be a space for dialogue between sciences, without abandoning the principles of one’s own path of inquiry. By recognizing the empirical sciences as a pathway to faith and pointing out the importance of dialogue of philosophy, theology and other sciences, we discover the depth of the encyclical Fides et ratio. On its pages, it offers solutions that bring meaning and hope to the present-day STEM mentality.
Prva klinička hiperbarična komora pri Kliničkom bolničkom centru Rijeka puštena je u rad krajem 2016., skoro 25 godina nakon objave prve Hrvatske liste indikacija za hiperbaričnu oksigenaciju (HBO2T) ...u riječkom medicinskom časopisu "Medicina". U tom razdoblju, ni razni oblici edukacije, ni napori u popularizaciji ove metode, kao ni mogućnost rada s eksperimentalnom hiperbaričnom komorom, nisu imali za posljedicu veći broj riječkih publikacija u ovom znanstvenom području pa stoga ni naglašeniji interes od strane specijalista kliničkih grana. HBO2T treba učiniti jeftinijom i dostupnijom svim bolesnicima koji gravitiraju Rijeci. Sadašnju Listu indikacija za HBO2T treba urediti i učiniti je sukladnom preporukama utvrđenim u Europskoj konsenzus listi.
U članku se raspravlja o tome kako smjestiti filozofiju u odnosu na druga polja humanističkih znanosti. Tvrdi se da ne postoji nešto takvo kao što je neovisno ili čisto filozofsko istraživanje: ...filozofska je aktivnost uvijek prožeta uvidima, rezultatima i metodama koje su specifične za prirodne, društvene i humanističke znanosti. Filozofija je nužno samo dio kolektivnog pothvata razumijevanja svijeta, koji obuhvaća različite discipline. Kao posljedica toga, ne postoji neki poseban problem odnosa između filozofije i znanosti, uključujući i humanističke znanosti.
The paper discusses how to situate philosophy with respect to the other fields of humanities. It is argued that there is no such thing as an independent or pure philosophical inquiry: the philosophical activity is always informed with insights, results and methods specific for either the sciences or the humanities. Philosophy is necessarily just a part of the collective endeavour to understand the world, which comprises various disciplines. As a consequence, there is no special problem of the relationship between philosophy and science, or between philosophy and humanities.
Članek analizira nekatere konkretne primere posebnega tipa seksističnega diskurza v slovenskem medijskem in javnem prostoru, ki sega onstran sicer njegovih dominantnih in pričakovanih tematizacij, ...povezanih z oglaševanjem ali zakoreninjenimi stereotipi o spolnih vlogah ali diskriminaciji. Analiza nekaterih javnih objav dr. Boštjana M. Zupančiča in njenih medijskih (re)prezentacij pokaže, da je opisani tip diskurza večkrat skrit za psevdoznanstveno in psevdopsihoanalitično legitimnost, kjer se še zlasti pogosto opira na spoznanja Sigmunda Freuda, Carla Gustava Junga in nekaterih drugih psiholoških klasikov. Zato ga v prispevku označujem za psevdoznanstveni seksizem in z njim opišem v sebi kompleksen korpus mizoginih in seksističnih prepričanj, besed in dejanj, v katerih je oseba, običajno ženskega spola, s pomočjo sklicevanja na sumljive in neutemeljene znanstvene izsledke obravnavana zaničujoče in diskriminatorno na način, da ji je odrekana mentalna in kognitivna zmožnost, s katero je okronan moški spol, njena enakopravna vloga v družbi ali na primer na poklicnem področju. Kot takšen lahko tak tip seksizma pod krinko znanstveno sofisticirane utemeljenosti, sploh v kombinaciji z medijsko promocijo, tem bolj nevarno legitimira vse, kar mu sicer očitamo: široko spolno diskriminacijo in neenakost, oprto na številne predsodke.
La communauté internationale prétend freiner la perte de biodiversité et maintenir les services rendus par les écosystèmes. Ces termes à la mode expriment-ils une nouvelle façon de concevoir la ...nature ? L’auteur analyse l’évolution des idées depuis le début du xxe siècle, où l’on se préoccupait de protéger la nature, jusqu’à nos jours, où il est question de gérer la biodiversité. Les bouleversements récents dans la façon dont les sciences appréhendent la nature mettent en évidence un renouvellement de paradigme. L’idée d’équilibre naturel a longtemps prévalu en écologie. Aujourd’hui, s’impose celle de changement permanent, qui appelle une réflexion éthique : comment repenser les valeurs qui fondent les relations homme-nature, sachant que la biodiversité s’inscrit dans une trajectoire ? Dans un contexte marqué par de nouveaux repères conceptuels et par l’urgence des prises de décision, les scientifiques se trouvent de plus en plus impliqués dans la mise en oeuvre de projets qui inscrivent une biodiversité « choisie » dans leurs objectifs. L’auteur ouvre la réflexion sur l’évolution qui en résulte nécessairement dans la pratique du métier de chercheur.
Pokrovčeva knjiga Slobodno stvaranje prava: Herman U. Kantorowicz i slobodnopravni pokret (2018) nameće pitanje izraženo naslovom ovog rada na koje rad odgovara u tri koraka: prvo, pretpostavkom da ...je pitanje odgovorivo samo idealnim tipovima pravnih disciplina / funkcija; drugo, upućivanjem na kontekst Kantorowiczevih gledišta, osobito na objavu presuda; treće, ocjenom da je Kantorowicz podijelio pravnu znanost u prepletene funkcije a ne u odvojene discipline. U tu svrhu rad nudi idealne tipove disciplina i funkcija pravne dogmatike, pravne historije, pravne teorije i, kao najsloženiji i najkorisniji skup funkcija, pravnopolitičku analizu. Pretpostavka je, koja se ne dokazuje, da ne postoji ni oštra granica između pravne znanosti i susjednih znanosti: sociologije, ekonomije, psihologije, filozofije.

Lociranje iskona duševnih patnji svojstvenih ljudskoj vrsti zahtjeva pristup predmetu koji se ne da reducirati na jednu od specijalističkih metoda prirodnih znanosti, psihologije, historije i ...sociologije, te nadilazi one partikularnosti koje bivaju nošene razgraničenim perspektivama; kulturološkim i historijskim razmacima. Pitanje duševnih patnji pitanje je općenito-ljudskog bića, stoga je pored interdisciplinarnom metodom sabranih uvida o naravi predmeta potrebno još filozofijski sagledati predmet, ne izolirano, nego u sprezi s onom cjelinom spram koje čovjek zadobiva svoje biće kao jedno od mnogih. U tom smislu, ovo istraživanje vođeno je idejom rascijepljenosti kao paradigmom onoga što se poima duševnom patnjom, s obzirom na to što patnja pretpostavlja neki nedostatak, a moguća rješenja traži polazeći od shvaćanja ljudskog stanja kao inherentno tragičnog stanja potrebitosti.
Locating the origin of psychic suffering akin to human kind requires an approach to the subject that cannot be reduced to any special method of natural sciences, psychology, history and sociology, and it oversteps particularities which are being carried by confined perspectives; cultural and historical spacing. The question of psychic suffering is a question regarding a human being in general, and thus except for insights compiled by the interdisciplinary method, we also need a philosophical investigation of the subject. It is not meant in the sense
of isolation, rather as coupled with that wholeness by which a human being attains its being as being one among many. In a sense given, this investigation is guided by an idea of rupturedness as a paradigm of what
is considered to be psychic suffering, conditioned by the fact that suffering presupposes a sort of deficiency. The paper seeks possible solutions starting from understanding the human condition as an inherently tragic state of neediness.

unatoč tendencijama unutar suvremene zagrebačke kroatistike da se taj utjecaj zaboravi, a sam predmet u studijskom programu marginalizira.
