The scientific monograph (' Late Gothic winged altar of St. Cross of Kojsko (1515) and life in the Brda region of the 16th century') is dedicated to the 500 th anniversary of the unique late Gothic ...winged altar which dates back to 1515. The anniversary has offered numerous opportunities to illuminate the importance of this medieval cultural monument, which boasts not only Goriška Brda, but all Slovenia. Individual contributions in the book deal with the broader historical and social context of life in the Brda region of the 16th century.

Tudi v Sloveniji je bil dan žalovanja v spomin na umrlega papeža Janeza Pavla II. Na poziv vlade so bile odpovedane vse kulturne, športne in zabavne prireditve, televizijske in radijske postaje so prilagodile program in niso predvajale zabavnih oddaj. Po Sloveniji so ves dan potekale maše, vlada pa je tudi pozvala državljane, naj pokojnega papeža počastijo s triminutnim molkom. Izjava sestra Judita Mihelčič, predstojnica uršulinskega samostana, Ljubljana, triminutni molk, cerkveni zvonovi, žalovanje ljudi, veliki ekran pred stolnico, otroci v vrtcu in uršulinke spremljajo televizijski prenos, prekinitev dela in pouka, maša zadušnica v Frančiškanski cerkvi.

Linguistic complexities (prohibitions, rules) point to deep-rooted norms that prescribed the Old Russian way of governing, the ecclesiastical system and the relationship between dealing with the existing knowledge and Christian tradition.
