To translate a particular word or collection of words from one dialect to another, a system called the dialect translation module is used in this work. The suggested system's results can help with ...understanding and analysing the dialectal differences between the dialects. This will also benefit individuals keen on acquiring communication skills in one or more of the dialects. When translating, consider both mainstream Assamese (standard Assamese) and the Kamrupia (Palasbari) dialect of Assamese. This study delves into the analysis of text, word construction, morphology, grammar, and ambiguity. Towards the conclusion, a method for developing a deliberate translation system is suggested.
Introduction: Establishing effective communication between professors and students is very important in the university environment and it can have a significant impact on the academic and ...professional success of students. This study aimed to to identify the factors affecting the relationship between students and professors at Mashhad University of Medical Sciences.
Methods: This descriptive cross-sectional study was conducted in 2022 on medical basic sciences students an data were gathered through a standard questionnaire containing demographic information and 35 questions about the factors affecting the relationship between students and professors. The data were analyzed using SPSS software and an independent t-test.
Results: In this study, 69% of the students were male and 73% were single. According to the students' opinions, the speaking skills (77%), physical appearance (33%), rank (31.5%), maintaining the dignity and respect of students (25%), empathy and mutual understanding (19%) had the most significant impact on establishing a relationship between them and professors. However, the professor's age proximity to the student (15%), good listening skills and appropriate response to questions (15%), receptivity to criticism (13%), use of communication techniques (10%), and adherence to ethical principles (9%) had the least impact. Among all demographic variables, only sex had a signifant relationship with personal abilities dimension.
Conclusion: Based on the results, it seems that most communication factors are important. Improving these relationships and focusing on effective factors can help improve students' academic status and organizationally lead to better efficiency and performance of the university.
Appropriate conversation skills are imperative to social interactions and are consequently a common intervention for individuals with autism spectrum disorder (ASD). The present study attempts to ...decrease inappropriate comments and interruptions made by the participant, a 13-year-old female with ASD. Using an ABAB design, the study extends the literature on the response interruption and redirection (RIRD) intervention, in combination with a self-monitoring component. During baseline, there was an average of 6 inappropriate comments and 6.17 interruptions. During intervention, there was an average of 0.63 inappropriate comments and 1.5 interruptions. During withdrawal, an average of 4 inappropriate comments and 8 interruptions. Large non-overlap of all pairs (NAP) effect sizes with a 95 % confidence interval were calculated for inappropriate comments (0.95) and interruptions (0.90) from baseline to intervention. Further, NAP effect sizes from intervention to withdrawal were also large as indicated by a score of 0.98 for inappropriate comments and 1.00 for interruptions. Following reimplementation and generalization, as well as a maintenance phase, data indicated continued low frequencies of dependent variables. Results indicate RIRD combined with a self-monitoring component was effective in decreasing inappropriate comments and interruptions in an adolescent with ASD and holds promise as a beneficial intervention to improve social skills in the ASD population.
•Use of response redirection and interruption in combination with a self-monitoring component.•Use of response redirection and interruption with an adolescent with autism spectrum disorder.•Use of response redirection and interruption to target a decrease in inappropriate comments and interruptions.
Our objective was to obtain an in-depth understanding of autistic adults’ experiences with healthcare and their recommendations for improving care. Our academic–community partnership used a ...community-based participatory research approach to conduct semi-structured, open-ended interviews with 39 autistic adults and 16 people who had experience supporting autistic adults in healthcare settings. Participants identified patient-level, autism-related factors that impact healthcare interactions, including verbal communication skills, sensory sensitivities, challenges with body awareness, slow processing speed, atypical non-verbal communication, and challenges with organization. However, the success of healthcare interactions largely depended on the interplay between patient- and provider-level factors, as well as the larger context in which patients were receiving care. Provider-level factors included providers’ knowledge about autism in adults, incorrect assumptions about individual patients, willingness to allow written communication, use of accessible language, openness to providing other accommodations, and skill in appropriately incorporating supporters. System-level factors included the availability of supporters, complexity of the healthcare system, accessibility of healthcare facilities, and stigma about autism. Further efforts are needed to empower patients, adequately train providers, increase the accessibility of the healthcare system, and decrease discrimination.
Aim: The aim of this study was to investigate the relationship between communication skills with cognitive abilities, problem-solving, and psychological well-being and the mediating role of ...mindfulness in these relationships as a model for mothers of students with autism spectrum disorders. Method: For this purpose, applied research of descriptive-correlation type with structural equation design was conducted. The study population consisted of 571 mothers whose children with autism spectrum disorders were studying in special schools for autism (11 schools) and schools for autism spectrum disorders (5 schools) in Tehran and were responsible for the birth and maintenance of their children. Among the above schools, 7 schools were selected by random cluster sampling method and the mothers of all students with autism spectrum disorders in these schools, whose number was 230, were considered as a sample group and were given the Cognitive Abilities Questionnaire of Nejati (1392), problem-solving style of Cassidy & Lang (1996), psychological wellbeing of Ryff (1989), communication skills of Queen Dam (2004), and mindfulness of Brown & Ryan (2003). Results: The results of data analysis using the structural equation statistical method showed that the research model has a good fit. In addition, communication skills, both directly and indirectly through mindfulness, have a positive and significant relationship with the cognitive abilities, problem-solving, and psychological wellbeing of mothers of students with autism spectrum disorders (P <0.05).
Background and purpose: Violence against nurses is a growing global problem in all countries such as Iran. Due to the importance of this issue, this study was performed to investigate the ...relationship between the communication skills of nurses and the violence they experience in emergency departments at Mazandaran University of Medical Sciences. Materials and methods: This descriptive-analytical study was performed in 224 nurses in Mazandaran province in 2019. The samples were selected via census. Workplace violence in the health sector questionnaire and Burton G. E questionnaire were used to evaluate nurse’s communication skills, respectively. Data were analyzed in SPSS V25. Results: Verbal violence was the most frequent form of violence against nurses (85.3%) and patients were the main source of violence. In this study, the mean score for nurses’ communication skills was 58.13 that indicated moderate levels of communication skills. The study showed no significant relationship between nurses’ communication skills and the incidence of violence (P=0.85). Conclusion: Although there was no significant relationship between emergency nurses’ communication skills and incidence of violence against them, enhancing their communication skills should be considered by managers.
The increased awareness of the key role of effective management for the success of modern organizations in conditions of globalization has led to numerous questions about the mechanisms that ...determine the variability of this significant phenomenon. The purpose of this paper is to understand the factors that influence the process of effective management, with a focus on communication skills. This paper investigated the influence of communication skills among managers on effective management in organizations in the Republic of North Macedonia. The paper has a theoretical and empirical character, and the research is oriented towards determining the connection between the communication competencies of managers and management styles. The findings confirm that communication competences are a prerequisite for effective management that includes leadership, and that managers with different levels of communication competence will prefer different management styles. The findings suggest significant links between the three-dimensional integrated management model that is theoretically and operationally defined as a combination of transformational, transactional and liberal management styles with the communication model. These findings speak about the importance of communication skills, which increase with the level of a managerial position where transformational management styles dominate and confirmed the assumption that good and creative communication plays an important role in effective management and becomes crucial in today’s world at all organizational levels.
