A space of modular iterated integrals sits inside the space of real analytic modular forms. We present a theorem for producing length three modular iterated integrals which are not simply ...combinations of real analytic Eisenstein series; each function has an associated Laplace-eigenvalue equation. This can be viewed as an extension of the length two case recently given by F. Brown, a review of which is included in this paper. We discuss how modular iterated integrals could help understand the modular graph functions which arise in string perturbation theory.
The need for contraceptive and family planning services is often unmet, especially among lower-income women. However, the history of the provision of these services is fraught with coercion and ...mistrust: in 1979, in response to forced sterilization practices among doctors working with poor and minority populations, the U.S. Department of Health, Education, and Welfare imposed regulations on the informed consent process for Medicaid recipients requesting sterilization. The government mandated, among other requirements, a 30-day waiting period between consent and surgery and proscribed laboring women from providing consent. Initially intended to prevent the exploitation of poor women, these rules have instead become a barrier to many women receiving strongly desired, effective, permanent contraception. More critically, the regulations are ethically flawed: by preventing women from accessing needed family planning services, the Medicaid consent rules violate the standards of beneficence and nonmaleficence; by treating publically insured women differently from privately insured women, they fail the justice standard; and by placing constraints on women's free choice of contraceptive methods, they run afoul of the autonomy standard. The current federal sterilization consent regulations warrant revising. The new rules must simultaneously reduce barriers to tubal ligation while safeguarding the rights of women who have historically suffered mistreatment at the hands of the medical profession. These goals could best be obtained through a combined approach of improved clinician ethics education and a new standardized sterilization consent policy, which applies to all women and which abolishes the 30-day waiting period and the prohibition on obtaining consent in labor.

The design and application of conductive biomaterials for wound healing are comprehensively reviewed, including versatile conductive agents, the various forms of conductive wound ...dressings, and different in vivo applications.
Three main strategies of which conductive biomaterials realizing their applications in wound healing and skin tissue engineering are discussed.
The challenges and perspectives in designing multifunctional conductive biomaterials and further clinical translation are proposed.
Conductive biomaterials based on conductive polymers, carbon nanomaterials, or conductive inorganic nanomaterials demonstrate great potential in wound healing and skin tissue engineering, owing to the similar conductivity to human skin, good antioxidant and antibacterial activities, electrically controlled drug delivery, and photothermal effect. However, a review highlights the design and application of conductive biomaterials for wound healing and skin tissue engineering is lacking. In this review, the design and fabrication methods of conductive biomaterials with various structural forms including film, nanofiber, membrane, hydrogel, sponge, foam, and acellular dermal matrix for applications in wound healing and skin tissue engineering and the corresponding mechanism in promoting the healing process were summarized. The approaches that conductive biomaterials realize their great value in healing wounds via three main strategies (electrotherapy, wound dressing, and wound assessment) were reviewed. The application of conductive biomaterials as wound dressing when facing different wounds including acute wound and chronic wound (infected wound and diabetic wound) and for wound monitoring is discussed in detail. The challenges and perspectives in designing and developing multifunctional conductive biomaterials are proposed as well.
Digital transformation led to the proliferation of new forms of exchange. This study aims, firstly, to put forward a parsimonious conceptualization for sharing economy (SE) and collaborative ...consumption (CC), concepts used interchangeably in literature and practice; secondly, to understand why consumers participate in each and whether they have significantly different drivers. We applied structural equation modeling to test our conceptual model with 400 participants. A market research company collected the data in Brazil. The convenience sample included respondents who had used one of the services at least once. Results show that SE is explained mostly by intrinsic reasons, while CC is driven by the extrinsic factor economics and the intrinsic reason enjoyment. Economic motivations are significantly stronger in CC than in SE, while convenience and environmental orientation are predominant in SE. The study advances knowledge in the field, making important managerial contributions revealing consumers’ priorities in each mode of exchange.
Abstract
An important performance index of explosive is the driving ability of fragment. A new fragment driving test device is proposed in this paper. Taking spherical tungsten fragment as the ...driving object, the influence of thin shell and thick shell structure on the driving ability of the test device was analyzed combined with TNT and WY-1 explosives. The test results show that the designed fragment driving test device can effectively distinguish the driving ability of different explosives to fragments. And the simulation results are in good agreement with the experimental results. The deviation of fragment driving velocity obtained by the test device is 5 % ~ 8 % compared with that calculated by Gurney model.
Fibre-reinforced composites are rapidly gaining market share in structural applications, but further growth is limited by their lack of toughness. Fibre hybridisation is a promising strategy to ...toughen composite materials. By combining two or more fibre types, these hybrid composites offer a better balance in mechanical properties than non-hybrid composites. Predicting their mechanical properties is challenging due to the synergistic effects between both fibres. This review aims to explain basic mechanisms of these hybrid effects and describes the state-of-the-art models to predict them. An overview of the tensile, flexural, impact and fatigue properties of hybrid composites is presented to aid in optimal design of hybrid composites. Finally, some current trends in fibre hybridisation, such as pseudo-ductility, are described.
In this paper, we revisit the classical linear turning point problem for the second order differential equation ϵ2x″+μ(t)x=0 with μ(0)=0,μ′(0)≠0 for 0<ϵ≪1. Written as a first order system, t=0 ...therefore corresponds to a turning point connecting hyperbolic and elliptic regimes. Our main result is that we provide an alternative approach to WBK that is based upon dynamical systems theory, including GSPT and blowup, and we bridge – perhaps for the first time – hyperbolic and elliptic theories of slow-fast systems. As an advantage, we only require finite smoothness of μ. The approach we develop will be useful in other singular perturbation problems with hyperbolic–to–elliptic turning points.
