This project is mainly the sample of the union between expressive drawing, xylographic language and the book. Everything revolves around the search through the experimentation of a graphic language trying to exploit to the maximum the possibilities of wood engraving, making use of expressive drawing resources such as modeling, a varied graphic alphabet, intrinsic construction or the integration of figures and context, adapted to the field of carving and stamping, trying to respect this particular and rich language. The work is structured in the form of a book, which provides continuity and overall vision to the prints, forming a coherent work where the harmony of all its elements occurs thanks to its format and support. In addition, great importance has been given to the formal qualities of the resulting images and an attempt is made to manifest the trace of a gesture, tactility and the intervention of the senses when capturing what is represented with greater veracity, as well as being a sample of a process, and not just a result. The work is the result of the learning acquired throughout the grade, around drawing and graphics, ending in this experimentation and investigation of the possibilities of engraving through which a personal language is sought.- All metadata published by Europeana are available free of restriction under the Creative Commons CC0 1.0 Universal Public Domain Dedication. Se pretende también alcanzar un buen grado de compresión y adquisición de conocimientos del medio pictórico.- This project of theoretical-practical nature related to the modality of pictorial production is composed by ten portraits in oil. The theme of this work revolves around the artist¿s personal introspection on the experiences she has lived through along this past year due to her health deterioration, her suffering and pain, and the psychological repercussions of it all. These events have induced her to examine the representation of illnesses in artworks, especially looking closely at how somatic as well as mental sufferings have perturbed and equally motivated artists and their work throughout history. In order to conduct an in-depth study, the artist will focus on the line of thought that approaches art as a therapy and a tool for healing. In the domain of painting, the quest is directed towards finding language and poetics which a cohesive with the discourse the artist intends to convey. The goal is also to achieve a high level of comprehension and to acquire knowledge of the pictorial medium.- All metadata published by Europeana are available free of restriction under the Creative Commons CC0 1.0 Universal Public Domain Dedication. Tested the possibility that children's drawings may be strongly affected by principles governing relationships among units in the drawing. 81 3-6 yr. olds were asked to complete 2 drawings, each ...consisting of a circle with 2 dots for eyes. The eyes were either parallel to the side of the page, or parallel to the base but low in the circle. Completed figures could agree with eye position (figures horizontal on the page or upside down), or with standard page placement (upright figures). Figures of the 1st type were frequent, especially among younger Ss and with the eyes placed sideways. Results suggest the feasibility of using concepts from studies of spoken language for experimental studies of graphic performance. (28 ref.)
With the recent developments in fast hidden surface algorithms and a method for smooth shading of half-tone pictures, it has become feasible to generate useful movies with the computer. This paper ...describes a system used to make computer generated movies. It also explains the methods used to attempt to solve the problems of object representation, object manipulation, concurrent motion, and ease of specifying motion. The system was first used to make a movie of a hand that lasts for little more than a minute.
Various approaches to explicit and implicit control of time and motion in procedural real-time graphic packages and languages are discussed and illustrated. The particular approach of independentty ...defining static objects and dynamic attribute is introduced and developed. The procedures which alter and manipulate basic objects at interactive run time, teamed "dynamic attributes," may be defined independently of objects as a function of time, input, and other variables. Attributes, once defined, may be associated with and dissociated from objects dynamically. Several objects may simultaneously have the identical attribute. A particular & association exists within its own zero-origin local time frame. Basic objects are static two-or three-dimensional entities in some space. Dynamic objects termed "images" may be recursively defined in teams oa basic objects and attributes. Objects and attributes are the basic building blocks enabling modular program construction. The notions presented here can be used as the basis for design of interactive graphic languages or oda the implementation of graphics packages. An experimental FORTRAN-callable package has been developed to test these notions.
In this paper CADEP, a problem-oriented language for positioning geometric patterns in a two-dimensional space, is presented. Although the language has been specifically designed for the automatic ...generation of integrated circuit masks, it turns out to be well suited also for such other placement problems as architecture design, urban planning, logical and block diagram representation. The design criteria, the structure, and the specific features of CADEP are illustrated.

The design concepts and languages of a geographic information system ATLAS (Administration and Total Landuse Analysis Support system) are proposed.
The database structure is designed based on the ...geographic information structure concepts which contain semantic structure, topological structure and location structure. For a flexible user interface, the system provides two languages) IGL (Interactive Geographic Language) and GDDL (Geographic Data Definition Language), whose functions are designed based on the geographic information structure concepts. IGL is an interactive end user language, which facilitates information retrieval under geographic and/or statistic conditions and thematic map production. GDDL is a language for a system manager who constructs and maintains the database.
Nowadays, creating a blockchain-based system for supply chain tracing is a complex task. This paper defines a model, a graphical domain specific language, and a set of tools aimed at helping supply ...chain domain experts to create blockchain based tracing systems for their supply chains. Starting from a graphical representation of the supply chain, the solidity smart contracts implementing the related tracing system are automatically generated by our framework. Small interventions of programmers are required to customize and finalize such smart contracts. A set of web based interfaces to interact with such smart contracts are also automatically generated. We are confident that our results will increase blockchain usage for supply chain traceability thanks to the automatic process of smart contract generation.
•A general framework to model supply chains via a Do-main Specific Graphical Language.•Automatic production of a blockchain-based tracing system from the supply chain model.•Ethereum smart contracts and Wed based interfaces for tracing system management.•Validation of the framework with a well known transformation soybeans supply chain.
Interactive use of computers with graphic terminals will permit many new problems to be solved using machines. In order to handle a variety of applications, it is expedient to develop a general ...purpose graphic language that is useful on a number of graphic devices. A system has been designed to produce such a language quickly and cheaply. A model graphic language which has been developed with the system is presented.
This paper describes the experience of a three-day workshop at the end of the Visual Communication and Design course, in the first year of the Sciences of Primary Education degree course. The days of ...full immersion turned into a lively and creative “happening” during which communication and representation strategies for children were put into practice. The activities of painting, comics, photography, art and geometry were combined and integrated in order to experiment with reading images and to learn how to compose with them. At the end of the workshop, an exhibition of the final works was held, open to pre-schools and primary schools.
