This research has the purpose of analyzing the material provision of popular democracy as the validity of human rights in today's societies. It is a bibliographical study of a diachronic nature from the deductive rationalist approach. He insists that the administration of the means of production by a few, in liberal democracy or in statism, causes injustice by generating classist, racist and sexist societies. Contrary to the capitalist configuration, the equitable distribution of productive structures causes just societies, by allowing the various human associations to use goods to meet collective needs instead of validating the accumulation of capital. Consequently, it promotes the characteristic values of intercultural dialogue as a basis for consensus that allows communities to deliberate in favor of highlighting the inherent dignity of life. Either a bridge or a door, a sea or a wall, the representations aim at grasping the Mediterranean under the sign of binarity. Never has a sea aroused so much interest as this Middle Sea. Oscillating ...between several representations that drain a multitude of concepts, the Mediterranean crystallizes the major oppositions of current societies. Brought on to the big screen, or being the object of the intellectual analysis of authors, the Mediterranean leads one to interrogation and invites to the reflection on life, on the relations between the carriers of the cultures of the two banks and on the future of humanity. This study proposes to analyze the filmic and literary staging of the Mediterranean as a space where binarity is exercised.
The article presents a theoretical-critical review of the process of decolonization of museums, starting from the new notion proposed by the International Council of Museums (ICOM) at the Kyoto ...conference (2019). From an epistemological perspective, it problematizes how the forms of acquisition, organization, and transmission of knowledge through collections and exhibitions are being influenced by heritage restitution policies that seek to eliminate the colonial past from European museums. For this reason, and considering that decolonization occupies a central position from which to reassess the social function of the museum, we understand that Art Education is key to breaking the asymmetric intercultural dialogue, addressing deliberate omissions, and amplifying invisibleized imaginaries. This transformation aims for museums to shift from being perceived as legitimizing instruments of hegemony to becoming critical cultural managers, promoters, simultaneously, of new educational proposals based on the knowledge and recognition of diverse epistemologies with which to create other forms of understanding and building culture.
Vital for human consumption, water is a scarce resource, particularly in the arid environments of Patagonia. In this study we analysed local perspectives and the use of different water sources, based ...on two case studies in rural communities of Mapuche and Creole ancestry inhabiting extra-Andean Patagonia in Chubut, Argentina. Water quality was evaluated using an ethnolimnological, interdisciplinary approach, taking into account local perspectives and scientific contributions. In addition, we analysed appropriation strategies, management and local organoleptic characteristics. The work was based on semi-structured interviews, tours guided by informants, and physicochemical and microbiological analysis of water sources. It was found that 92% of local inhabitants mainly used superficial and subterranean sources of water for consumption, among which stood out: river, streams, springs, wells, and boreholes. Differences were observed between local and scientific perspectives in terms of water quality (chemical and microbiological). Most water sources used by inhabitants presented water of deficient quality for human consumption (61%), whereas locals considered the water to be fresh, delicious, and transparent. Nevertheless, some points of agreement were found in terms of organoleptic characteristics (e.g., odour, colour) and physicochemical parameters in certain water sources. In general, locals do not recognise the deterioration of their water supply, but the importance of organoleptic characteristics in local perception should be highlighted. These aspects speak of a need to promote opportunities for dialogue, and implement effective health measures, taking local perspectives into account.
