This research was made to decide the impact of motivation on the students’s learning difficulties from the 2018 entry year in the social statistics course, Islamic Education Study Program, UNP. The ...population of this research were taken from 2018 collague student who entering the Islamic Education Study Program, totaling 170 student, and the sample used was 105 students. The research data was gained from the results of questionnaire that had fulfilled the validity and reliability requirements. Data were interpreted by a simple linear regression technique that composing by T-test, F-test, and Coefficient of Determination. Before testing the hypothesis, the data must go through normality and linearity tests as prerequisite tests. From the proceed of the f-test analysis, it was obtained f count = 52.252 ≥ f table = 3.92, which mean is the learning motivation has an influence to the learning difficulties. Then in the test output from coefficient of determination obtained r2 = 33.7% which indicates learning difficulties are influenced by learning motivation of 33.7% and 62.3% is affected by the other factors. Then the T-test results gained t count = -7.229 <T table = -1.980, meaning that motivation has a significant effect on learning difficulties. The simple linear regression similarity gained is Y = 97,796 – 0,580X which indicates that each learning motivation has increased one value, also learning difficulty reduce by 0.580. Negative sign indicates the existence of a form of influence in the opposite direction. So if learning motivation decreases, learning difficulties will increase. Conversely, if the motivation to learn increases, the difficulty of learning will decrease.
The aim of this research is to determine students' learning difficulties in completing diagnostic tests on linear function material. In managing data, quantitative procedures are used with the aim of ...reducing data. After that the data is analyzed using inductive data analysis and the processed data will be presented in narrative form. So this type of research is qualitative research. The subjects in this research were class IX students at a junior high school in Cianjur. The instruments used in this research were documentation, tests and interviews. The conclusions of the research results obtained include the types of student difficulties in straight line equation material are (1) difficulties in algorithmic abilities including a lack of planning abilities (strategy knowledge) and in solving abilities (algorithmic knowledge) which are shown from incomplete answers or lack of steps , the lack of accuracy of students in working; (2) difficulties in using the principle of linear functions, lack of mastery of the basics of algebra and lack of understanding (schematic knowledge) as indicated by difficulties in recognizing linear functions in contextual problems, errors in algebraic computations, difficulty in determining the point through which the line passes, and difficulty in apply the principle of parallel or perpendicular gradients; and (3) difficulties in using the concept including the inability to remember the concept, the inability to deduce useful information from a concept and the lack of understanding skills (schematic knowledge) which is shown by incompleteness in writing formulas. This research will be useful as a preliminary study in making learning designs to overcome student learning difficulties in linear function material based on empirical findings.
This research aims to explore the specific learning challenges encountered by students in the Mathematics Education Program at UIN Raden Intan Lampung, especially those with educational backgrounds ...in Science, Social Studies, and Vocational Studies, in the context of mathematics learning. Adopting a qualitative approach, this study employed purposive and Snowball Sampling techniques. It focused on students from classes A and B in the Mathematics Education Program. The findings reveal that students with a Science background tend to struggle with concept comprehension and the application of mathematical problem-solving techniques. Furthermore, a significant factor contributing to learning difficulties, observed in students from Science, Social Studies, and Vocational backgrounds, is a lack of interest in learning. The study concludes that the learning challenges faced by Mathematics Education students are not solely attributable to their educational backgrounds (Science, Social Studies, or Vocational). Instead, a predominant factor is their low level of interest in learning. This suggests the need for diverse learning strategies to enhance interest and understanding of mathematical concepts among students.
The objectives of the study were to determine the role of sociology teachers and the factors that impede overcoming students with learning difficulties at SMA Negeri 2 Sambi Rampas. This study ...employs a qualitative method. The informants were sociology teachers and students who had learning difficulties. Data for the research was collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. This study employs qualitative analysis techniques that revolve around data collection, data reduction, and drawing conclusions. According to the findings, the role of the sociology teacher in overcoming learners who have learning difficulties was becoming a source of inspiration, providing motivation, facilitating learning, guiding, and managing classrooms that are comfortable for students to learn in. Furthermore, the factors that cause students to experience difficulties in learning are the decreased interest in learning, the influence of online games, the lack of desire or willingness of students to learn and learning facilities that are inadequate and poorly managed.
The difficulty of non-Javanese students learning Arabic and Islam using the Pegon method is a research topic that has yet to receive much attention from academics. This article aims to analyze the ...difficulties of non-Javanese students in the Pegon Method. Data were obtained through interviews, observation, and document analysis. The results of this study indicate that the difficulties of non-Javanese students are caused by the Javanese language used in the Pegon method. Furthermore, the Arabic or Hijaiyah letters used to write Pegon Javanese are slightly different from the original Arabic, and the scientific foundation of Arabic for students needs to be improved. Preparatory class programs, peer tutoring, and literature translation using the Pegon script into Indonesian are some strategies for anticipating student difficulties.
