The vegetation of low-altitude dry heathlands in Central Europe (Euphorbio cyparissiae-Callunion vulgaris) has declined because the abandonment of traditional management has resulted in gradual ...overgrowth by woody species and because nutrient inputs have changed. Low-intensity grazing and sod-cutting, which are traditionally recommended to regenerate heather (Calluna vulgaris) vegetation from the seed bank, were introduced to restore stands of heather that had disappeared. The study was conducted in the Zlatnice Nature Reserve, located in the northwestern part of Prague (Czech Republic). A system of 1 m2 permanent plots was used to collect the data. Both grazing and sod-cutting were effective for the restoration of the Calluna vulgaris vegetation. During the two years after the introduction of grazing, the greatest increase in the heather cover occurred in the grazed areas. The heather cover in the areas managed by sod-cutting started to increase significantly in the third year following the removal of sods and reached values comparable with the grazed areas. Regular grazing hindered the increase in the cover of herbs; the increase in the herb cover was higher after single sodcutting. Sod-cutting facilitated the expansion of mosses. The experiment suggests that non-intensive sheep and goat grazing is most likely the most appropriate tool to restore dry heathland on shallow poor soils when more than 20 years have elapsed since the disappearance of the heathland. The use of sod-cutting itself is more demanding and brings a higher risk of overgrowth by unwanted herbs and woody species, resulting in repeated degradation of the Calluna vulgaris vegetation.
Vegetacija nižinskih suhih vresav v srednji Evropi (Euphorbio cyparissiae-Callunion vulgaris) je v upadanju zaradi opuščanja tradicionalnega gospodarjenja in to se kaže v postopnem zaraščanju z lesnatimi rastlinami in spremenjenem vnosu hranil. Za obnovitev sestojev z vreso, ki so izginili, smo uporabili pašo z nizko intenzivnostjo in košnjo, ki sta tradicionalno priporočena načina za obnavljanje vegetacije z vreso (Calluna vulgaris) iz semenske banke. Raziskavo smo opravili v naravnem rezervatu Zlatnice, ki se nahaja v severozahodnem delu Prage (Češka republika). Vzpostavili smo sistem stalnih 1 m2 ploskev. Za obnovitev vegetacije z vrsto Calluna vulgaris sta bila uspešna tako paša kot košnja. Pokrovnost vrese se je povečala dve leti po začetku poskusa s pašo, na površinah s košnjo pa se je značilno povečala tretje leto in vrednosti so bile primerljive s pašenimi površinami. Redna paša je ovirala povečanje pokrovnosti zelišč, medtem ko se je njihova pokrovnost povečala po posamezni košnji. Košnja je tudi vplivala na povečanje pokrovnosti mahov. Poizkus je pokazal, da je slabo intenzivna paša ovac in koz verjetno najbolj primeren način obnove suhih vresav na plitvih, s hranili revnih tleh, po več kot 20 let od uničenja vresave. Košnja je bolj zahtevna, pojavlja pa se tudi možnost razraščanja nezaželjenih zelišč in lesnatih rastlin, kar zopet vodi v degradacijo vegetacije z vrsto Calluna vulgaris.
We conducted a phytosociological study of the communities hosting the rare and endangered fern Adiantum capillus-veneris in the foothills of the Julian Alps, in Karst and in Istria. Based on a ...comparison with similar communities elsewhere in the southern Alps (northern Italy) we classified most of the recorded stands into the syntaxa Eucladio-Adiantetum eucladietosum and -cratoneuretosum commutati. Releves from the southern Julian Alps, located in comparatively slightly colder and moister local climate and the dolomite bedrock are classified into the new subassociation -hymenostylietosum recurvirostri subass. nova. Stands with the abundant occurrence of the liverwort Conocephalum conicum, are classified in to the new subassociation -conocephaletosum conici subass. nova. Stands in conglomerate rock shelters along the Soča at Solkan are classified into the new association Phyteumato columnae-Adiantetum ass. nova, a community of transitional character between the classes Adiantetea capilli-veneris and Asplenietea trichomanis.
Fitocenološko smo raziskali združbe, v katerih v prigorju Julijskih Alp, na Krasu in v Istri uspeva redka in ogrožena praprot Adiantum capillus-veneris. Na podlagi primerjav s podobnimi združbami drugod v južnih Alpah (severna Italija) smo večino popisanih sestojev uvrstili v sintaksona Eucladio-Adiantetum eucladietosum in -cratoneuretosum commutati. Popise iz južnih Julijskih Alp, ki smo jih naredili v nekoliko hladnejšem in bolj vlažnem krajevnem podnebju in na dolomitni podlagi uvrščamo v novo subasociacijo -hymenostylietosum recurvirostri subass. nova. Sestoje, kjer je obilno uspeval jetrenjak Conocephalum conicum, smo uvrstili v novo subasociacijo -conocephaletosum conici subass. nova. Sestoje v konglomeratnih spodmolih ob Soči pri Solkanu uvrščamo v novo asociacijo Phyteumato columnae-Adiantetum ass. nova, saj kažejo na stik združb dveh razredov Adiantetea capilli-veneris in Asplenietea trichomanis.
In this paper author gives the results of his own bryological investigations of the phytogeographical subregion Karavanke (part of the Alpine phytogeographical region) as well as the previous reports ...from literature and unpublished data from LJU. In total 453 species are reported from the investigated subregion, 97 liverworts and 356 mosses. Among them 12 are reported for the first time for Slovenia (Cephalozia ambigua, Lophozia ascendens, Didymodon asperifolius, Dicranella crispa, Brachytheciastrum olympicum, Schistidium crassipilum, S. dupretii, S. elegantulum subsp. elegantulum, S. lancifolium, S. papillosum, S. robustum, S. trichodon var. trichodon), 94 species are reported for the first time for the Karavanke. 40 species are included in national Red List and 11 species in the Red Data Book of European Bryophytes (ECCB 1995).
V članku avtor podaja rezultate lastnih florističnih raziskav mahovne flore fitogeografskega podobmočja Karavanke (del alpskega fitogeografskega območja), vključuje pa tudi podatke iz literature in neobjavljene podatke iz herbarija LJU. Mahovna flora obsega 453 vrst, od tega 97 vrst jetrenjakov (Marchantiopyta) in 356 vrst listnatih mahov (Bryophyta). Med njimi je 12 vrst novih za Slovenijo (Cephalozia ambigua, Lophozia ascendens, Didymodon asperifolius, Dicranella crispa, Brachytheciastrum olympicum, Schistidium crassipilum, S. dupretii, S. elegantulum subsp. elegantulum, S. lancifolium, S. papillosum, S. robustum, S. trichodon var. trichodon), 94 vrst pa je za fitogeografsko podobmočje omenjeno prvič. V Rdeči seznam ogrožene mahovne flore Slovenije je vključeno 40 vrst. Na evropskem Rdečem seznamu (ECCB 1995) je 11 vrst.
U radu se obrađuju pravi mahovi koje su u .posljednje vrijeme sabrali na području Slovenije autor i slovenski fitocenolozi Max i Tone Wraber. Ukupno je obrađeno 90 oblika pravih mahova, od kojih je ...12 oblika novo opisanih, 53 su novi za Jugoslaviju i 25 novih za Sloveniju.
Svi opisani oblici čuvaju se u herbariju autora.
Autor je nedavno posjetio doline potoka Ludvić i Lipovačke gradne u području Samoborske gore koje su poznate, pored ostalog, i po svojoj mahovinskoj flori, u kojoj ima i predstavnika atlanskog ...flornog elementa.
Nakon što se osvrće na dosadašnja istraživanja Horvata i Pichlera, koji su dali osnovne podatke za poznavanje briofitske flore ovoga kraja, navodi i svoje nalaze, 16 vrsta mahova jetrenjarki i 10 vrsta pravih mahova. Na osnovu svih dosadašnjih nalaza ističe prisustvo atlantskih vrsta.
Posebno izdvaja svoje nalaze pravih mahova Leucobryum juniperoi- deum C. Miill. i Eurhynchium zetterstedtii P. Stroemer, koji se prvi put navode za uže područje Hrvatske. Za obje vrste daje njihove taksonomske karakteristike i osvrće se na njihovu opću rasprostranjenost i dosadašnje nalaze u drugim krajevima Jugoslavije.
