This study was conducted at the University of Baghdad / College of Agricultural
Engineering Sciences to show the effect of adding lemongrass leaf powder
(Cymbopogon citratus) and vitamin C to broiler ...diets at different levels on the
productive traits of broilers. This experiment was conducted in the poultry field
(Abu Ghraib) / Department of Animal Production / Agricultural Engineering
Sciences/ for a period from 10/15/2021 to 11/26/2021 for a period of (42 days).
The study used 240 unsexed commercial hybrids (Ross 308) of one-day-age
chicks. They were randomly assigned to 6 treatments and 4 replicates for each
treatment (10 chicks/duplicate). The experimental treatments were as follows:
Control treatment T1 (feed without supplement), treatment T2 (add lemongrass 2
g/kg feed), T3 (add lemongrass 4g/kg feed), T4 (add lemongrass 6g/kg feed),
treatment T5 (add lemongrass 8g/kg feed), Treatment T6 (add vitamin C 0.5 g/kg
feed). Suppose we noted no differences between the addition treatments and the
control treatment during the experiment period in the productive traits. In that case,
we note that there are no significant differences between all the additional
treatments compared to the control treatment despite their arithmetic differences.

This study was conducted in a private field for duck breeding in Al-Muthanna
Governorate from 12/14/2021 to 02/14/2022. The study included oxytetracycline's
effect on some Chinese ducks' productive ...traits. 60 unsexed, one-day Chinese duck
chicks were used, prepared from one of the hatcheries in Al-Qadisiyah Governorate. They were randomly distributed to 4 treatments, including 3 replicates for
each (5 chicks for each replicate). The treatments were as follows: T1: control
treatment. T2, T3 and T4 were added to 0.125, 0.250 and 0.375 mg oxytetracycline/ kg diet. The results indicated that using oxytetracycline significantly improved some productive traits of Chinese ducks, body weight, weight gain, feed
intake and feed conversion factor. Added the antibiotic to feed at a concentration of
0.375 mg per kg of feed gave the best results significantly compared to the rest of
the treatments.

The experiment was carried out in the poultry field of the Department
of Animal Production/College of Agriculture/the University of Diyala from
4/9/2021 to 10/14/2021 to study the effect of adding ...Cynara scolymus L. )artichoke( extract to the diet of broilers. It was used as an antioxidant to show its effect on birds' productive, physiological and immune performance. In this experiment, 225 unsexed Ross 308 hybrid broiler chicks were used (one day age), with
an initial weight of 44.36 g/chick. These chicks were randomly distributed from
the first day of receiving them to five experimental treatments with three replicates for each treatment (15 birds/repeat). The experimental treatments were: T1
= (control treatment) provided a standard diet free of additives, T2 = Standard ration plus 75 mg/L artichoke extract, T3 = a standard diet supplemented with 150
mg/L artichoke extract, T4 = Standard ration to which 2 g/kg of artichoke extract
is added, and T5 = Standard ration to which 3 g/kg of artichoke extract is added.
The experiment results indicated a significant effect on product traits when adding different artichoke leaf extract powder levels to Ross 308 broiler water and
diet (1-42 days). Generally, treatment T3 was significantly (P<0.05) superior in
the fourth week in recording the highest average live body weight of 3170.90 g,
and treatment T4 was significantly (P<0.05) in the fourth week and recorded the
highest rate of weight gain. Also, treatment T1 in the first week recorded the
highest rate of feed consumption, treatment T2 in the first week recorded the
highest efficiency of food conversion, and treatment T3 significantly (P<0.05)
and recorded the highest rate of productive evidence.

This experiment was conducted at the poultry field, Agricultural Research and
Experiments Station, College of Agriculture and the Marshes, Thi Qar University,
from 11/1/2021 to 12/12/2021 to ...determine the effect of diluting the feed with date
kernels treated in different ways on some productive traits of broilers. A total of
270, one day, 40 gm chicks of Rose-308 were used. Chicks were randomly distributed to the five experimental treatments with three replicates (18 birds for each
replicate); the diets were provided from the beginning of the second week until the
end of the sixth week. The treatments were as follows: T1: Standard control diet
(without dilution); T2: control diet diluted by 20% regular date seed pods for 7-42
days; T3: basal diet diluted with 20% date kernels, cooked for 7-42 days; T4: basal
diet diluted with 20% vinegar-treated seed for 7-42 days; T5: basal diet diluted by
20% seed germinated for 7-42 days. The results indicated a significant improvement when diluting the feed with date kernel powder compared to the control
treatment in all the studied productive traits; the dilution of feed with cultivar date
kernel powder gave the best results in a significant way compared to the other
treatments.

This study was conducted at a private field for duck breeding in Al-Muthanna

study the effect of adding an aqueous ...extract of licorice to drinking water on the
productive performance of Chinese ducks. A total of 60 unsexed, one-day Chinese
duck chicks were used, prepared from one of the hatcheries in Al-Qadisiyah
Governorate, were randomly distributed to 4 treatments, included 3 replicates (5
chicks each replicate), the treatments were as follows: T1: control treatment. T2,
T3 and T4 were 5, 10 and 15 ml aqueous extract of licorice /liter of drinking water.
The results show that there was a significant improvement in all the studied productive traits (body weight, weight gain, feed intake, food conversion) at the
treatment of licorice aqueous extract in drinking water, in addition to the high level
of licorice aqueous extract (15 ml of licorice per each liter of drinking water),
which gave the best results and significantly.

This experiment conducted using 20 Rahmani ewes at the last third of pregnancy in two equal groups. One group served as control, while the other group received Spirulina platensis (SP) at the rate of ...0.5 gm 10 kg-1 live body weight. The objective was to find out the effect of adding Spirulina platensis algae to small ruminant rations on reproductive and productive traits and blood components of sheep. The experiments lasted for 120 days for both dams and their lambs after weaning. The findings proved that adding SP in ewes' diets had no effect on the average of live body weight change. Average milk yield was significantly (p <0.01) higher in the treatment group than the control. Lamb's birth weight and daily body gain of the treated group were significantly (p <0.01) higher than the control. Blood and serum picture profile of ewes were significantly higher when fed SP additive than the control. It could be concluded that the addition of SP to the ration of sheep positively preserved their health, productive and reproductive status as well as their lambs' growth rate. Also the additive improved the economic efficiency of treated animals by about 53.13%.
The main goal of this experiment was to evaluate the effect of broiler strain and source of drinking water on some performance traits (body weight and carcass traits). Sample of water were taken from ...two different location sources, Giza governorate (as Nile water) and Qalubia governorate (as well water or ground water). Three different broiler strains were used in this study (Arbor acres, Hubbard and Cobb). Lead concentration (as a heavy metal element) and bacteriological analysis (total bacteria and fecal coliforms) in both water and carcass were carried out. The main results obtained can be summarized as follow: Arbor acres strain recorded the heaviest body at most ages compared to the other strains, the difference was highly significant at 5 and 6 weeks of ages. Total bacteria were significantly high in ground water compared to Nile water. Conversely, Coliforms bacteria count was significantly high in Nile water compared to ground water source. Regardless strain type, high positive correlation between lead concentration in drinking water and lead concentration in liver, kidney and carcass weight was observed
This study was conducted to investigate the effect of adding Lycium barbarum extract to drinking water on some productive traits of Japanese quail. A total of 270 one-week-old Japanese quails were ...used in this study. The birds were divided into six treatments (45 for each). Each litre of drinking water (RO) was treated with 400 mg of L. barbarum extract add from (leaves, fruits, stems, and roots) for T2, T3, T4, and T5 respectively. 400 mg of mixed extract from leaves, stems, fruits and roots of L. barbarum were added to drinking water (T6). The control treatment (T1) was free of L. barbarum drinking water. The results showed no significant differences in the body weight, body weight gain, feed consumption and feed conversion ratio. A significant decrease in the age of sexual puberty and sexual maturity for males and females were recorded in the second and third treatments compared to the other treatments. On the other hand, the results showed no significant differences between the experimental treatments for the weight at sexual puberty and maturity for males and females. It can be concluded that the leaves and fruits of L. barbarum extract decreased the sexual puberty age for males and females of Japanese quail. On the other hand, it has no effect on body weight, body weight gain, feed consumption and feed conversion ratios.
Laurel leaves characterized with interesting antioxidant effects, which have often used to improve the immunity with positive consequences on growth and performance This study was conducted to assess ...the effect of adding crushed laurel leaves to the diet on the productive traits of broiler chickens. A total of 180 broiler chickens, were randomly assigned to four dietary treatments, with a rate of 45 birds per treatment; each treatment consisted of three replicates. The first treatment, or control, was generated without adding laurel leaves to the diet, second, third, and fourth treatments were generated by adding laurel leaves with amounts of 1, 2, and 3 g kg-1 feed, respectively. Nine productive traits were evaluated in this study, including the average of live body weight, weight gain, feed consumption, feed conversion ratio, percentage of mortality, productive index, length of the villus, depth of crypts, and villus length/crypts length ratio. Results indicated that the addition of laurel leaves led to a significant improvement in all productive traits, signifying highly essential participation of laurel leaves to enhance growth and performance. In conclusion, it can be stated that adding 3 g kg-1 of crushed laurel leaves to the diet can improve the productive traits of broiler chickens.
