For a grid-connected inverter requiring the ac voltage magnitude and the active power control, both vector control and power synchronization control can be applied. The stability comparison based on ...the dq impedance stability analysis between both control are carried out via three factors including the grid impedance, the inner current loop and the virtual impedance. The dq impedances of the inverter based on both control are derived. The determinant of the impedance ratio matrix is used for the stability analysis. The bode plot of the grid impedance and the inverter impedance are present to assist the stability analysis and explain their interactions. It is found that increasing the grid impedance and the cut-off frequency of the current loop stabilize the inverter with the power synchronization control, which is converse to the vector control. Furthermore, the inverter with the power synchronization control may suffer the instabilities when connecting to a strong grid. The virtual inductor and resistor are proposed to enhance the stability for the vector control and the power synchronization control respectively. The simulation validation using Matlab/Simulink is performed.
Abstract
As the core equipment of the DC power transmission project, the operation status of the converter valve is the key to the safety and stability of the DC system. Existing assessment methods ...cannot accurately assess the health status of the converter valve in project operation. According to the independence of the function and structure of each component of the converter valve, this paper proposes a converter valve state evaluation method based on hierarchical grading fuzzy theory. The data used are various information characterizing the state of the converter valve, such as voltage, current, sound, image, and other data. According to hierarchical grading, the evaluation index system is constructed. Based on the fuzzy theory, the affiliation function is proposed, and the affiliation probability of four hierarchical states is output for the state evaluation results of the converter valve and its group components. Experiments show that the method improves the accuracy and practicability of converter valve evaluation in engineering sites.

This paper presents a generic rms model of voltage source converter (VSC) in modular multilevel converter (MMC) topology for high-voltage direct current (HVDC) application. The generic rms model is ...suitable for stability analysis of a MMC-VSC-HVDC interconnected to ac power system. Based on the rms model, a linearized model for analytical model analysis is also developed and described. The parameters of the generic rms model are identified via an established averaged EMT model. The dynamic performance of the proposed generic model is tested in both time and frequency domain analysis using a typical high-voltage transmission system.
