Abstract
As a country with high frequency of geological disasters, China still faces many problems in dealing with geological disasters and reducing economic losses. In recent years, with the ...deepening of the research on geological disaster early warning, as well as exchanges with various institutions and learning experience, we have made some achievements in how to carry out geological disaster early warning, which has become a major driving force for social development. Nowadays, people mostly deal with geological disasters with certain human intervention. This paper relies on the “big data analysis” and mathematical conventional statistical analysis in recent years, and carries out a series of experiments to establish the early warning model, and carry out corresponding analysis on the multiple attributes of the model, so as to explore the usability of the early warning model in the future geological disasters. In this paper, the corresponding exploration of geological disasters in recent years is carried out. Correlation analysis and statistical analysis are carried out in the aspects of year, disaster frequency, loss and early warning, and the prediction model is established. It is found that with the development of time, the occurrence times of geological disasters are uncertain, and people pay more attention to the early warning of geological disasters and face the loss caused by geological disasters It will decrease gradually.
Climate change is a global concern, and the need to address it is urgent. Therefore, climate change education has been developed in recent years. Meaning making, coping strategies, and ...solution-oriented climate education tasks enable and maintain hope for positive results with regard to climate change. However, there is still uncertainty as to how students’ knowledge of climate change mitigation measures affects their attitudes. In the present study, elementary and secondary students in Finland (n = 950) responded to an online questionnaire. A principal component analysis, a hierarchical regression analysis, a correlation coefficients, a t-test, and a Kruskal-Wallis analysis of variance were used for the analysis to understand what kind of hope students had towards climate change and how their knowledge and optimism regarding climate change affected their hope. The data revealed that the students had a relatively high constructive hope rather than denial hope when it comes to climate change. Additionally, this hope was not built on a minimisation of climate change. The results indicated that the significant predictors for climate change mitigation were gender, climate change knowledge, and constructive hope. A typology of student positions with regard to climate change is introduced as conclusions.
Based on tissues from 34 patients, we investigated the performance of terahertz (THz) time-domain spectroscopy (TDS) to diagnose gastric tissues in surgical resected specimens. The results indicated ...that THz absorption spectra not only can clearly distinguish cancer tissues from normal tissues without hematoxylin-eosin staining (H&E staining) but also can identify carcinoma in situ and cancer tissues. Using THz-TDS to directly diagnose gastric cancer was also demonstrated with another 40 samples. Comparison of the data with the results of pathological examination indicated that the sensitivity and specificity were both 100%. Due to the ability to perform quantitative analysis and enable follow-up staining and traditional histopathological analysis, our study indicated considerable potential of THz-TDS for future automation, which is critical for the rapid and thorough prescreening of gastric cancer pathological examinations.
Statistical studies of the surface distribution of milled workpieces and the possibility of their use for operation-based tests and machine tool evaluation are presented. In the first part of the ...paper, the assumptions and scope of statistical research were defined and the method of obtaining data on machined surfaces directly from machining programs was described. In the following part of the article, the results of research consisting in determining the probability of machining operations in the working space of a numerically controlled milling machine are presented on the example of machining programs designed for implementation on the DMC 1035V Ecoline vertical machining center. Knowledge of the load distribution in the working space of a milling machine associated with the machining process can be used to design and manufacture test pieces reflecting the machining tasks performed on the milling machine and to develop appropriate acceptance and evaluation procedures.
Contemporary problems of statistical analysis of agricultural activities of enterprises in the context of their environmental consequences have been researched. The role of statistical analysis in ...ecological and economic development of Ukraine is defined; it involves forming a system of indicators of environmental impacts caused by the activities of agricultural enterprises. The use of statistical approach to evaluation of ecological processes operating in agricultural production, enables to understand the mechanisms of action of these processes, and to identify the factors that affect their functioning, to identify key areas for their ecological development. For the analysis and evaluation of environmental activities of agricultural enterprises the system of indicators is proposed, on the basis of compliance with international standards that identify the reserves in the activities of agricultural enterprises and reflect the peculiarities of natural and climatic conditions of activity of agricultural enterprises. The ways of improvement of methodological approaches to the statistical assessment of environmental impacts are offered; they are based on a conceptual framework involving four assessment phases as a tool for improving statistical estimates of effects.
The local properties of the time series of the evolution of share prices of 126 significant companies traded on the Warsaw Stock Exchange during the period between 1991–2008 have been investigated. ...The analysis was applied to daily financial returns. I have used the local DFA to obtain the Hurst exponent (diffusion coefficient) while searching for negative correlations by which changes of long-term trends would be effected. A certain evidence, proving that after the signature of anti-correlation–the drop in the Hurst exponent–the change in the trend and in the return rate of an investment is probable, was pointed out. Hence after further investigation this method may be useful as a part of an investment strategy. As the Warsaw Stock Exchange is relatively smaller and younger than other significant world Stock Exchanges–and as the developing market is less efficient–the generalization for others markets needs further investigation.
Castleman disease is a polyclonal lymphoproliferative disease which is clinically classified into unicentric (UCD) and multicentric (MCD). TAFRO syndrome is a relatively new concept that partly ...overlaps with MCD. Due to their rarity, their incidence remains unknown. This study investigated the incidence and prevalence of UCD, MCD, and TAFRO syndrome in Japan using a fixed-point observation method based on their incidence in Ishikawa prefecture. The annual incidences of MCD, UCD, and TAFRO syndrome in Japan were 309-731, 71-542, and 110-502, respectively, yielding annual incidence rates per million individuals of 2.4-5.8, 0.6-4.3, and 0.9-4.9, respectively, and nationwide prevalence of 4,180-14,900, 1,350-10,300, and 860-7,240, respectively. In conclusion, MCD, UCD and TAFRO syndrome may not be as rare as previously estimated in Japan.
