The purpose of this study was to identify the motivations, outcome expectations, and factors that influenced the enrollment of private engineering students and prospective students in a master's ...degree program for the purpose of advanced technical training. We surveyed 71 students and asked them to answer some open-ended questions. In addition, the co-occurrence of each answer was identified. As a result, most of them wanted to enter a master's program for study activity and to enhance their future careers. It was also found that senior students and their parents were related to their decision to enter into the master's program. The results of a co-occurrence network analysis showed a strong co-occurrence relationship between study activity, future careers, and seniors, which suggested that the seniors served as a model for their enrollment into the master's program. Additionally, a moderate co-occurrence of parents with future careers, this suggested that parents who had expectations of the master's program encouraged their children to enroll in it.

All these capabilities are indispensable to theoretical thinking.
This article has been retracted. Please see: Retraction of published article due to the author’s proposal - 3 June 2024 In the article the possibilities and classification of ICTs and tools that can ...be used in organizing students’ independent study activities of higher education institutions has been explored. It is determined the students’ independent study activities is individual, group, collective activity and is implemented within the process of education under the condition of no pedagogy’s direct involvement. It complies with the requirements of the curriculum and syllabus and is aimed at students’ acquisition of some social experiences in line with the learning objectives of vocational training. The analysis of the latest information and technological approaches to the organization of students’ independent study activities made it possible to determine the means of realization of the leading forms of organization for this activity (independent and research work, lectures, consultations and non- formal education), to characterize and classify the ICTs and tools that support presentation of teaching materials, electronic communication, mastering of learning material, monitoring of students’ learning and cognitive activity, such as ones that serve for the sake of development and support of automated training courses, systems of remote virtual education with elements of artificial intelligence, which implement the principle of adaptive management of learning and the organization of students’ independent study activities. The paper provides the insight into the essence of the conducted investigation on the assesses of the effectiveness of ICTs and tools in the process of organizing students’ independent study activities.
The problem of formation of the information and analytical competence of future border guard officers with the use of information and communication technologies in their self-study activity is ...highlighted. The essence of the information and analytical competence is understood as a component of professional competence that reflects the readiness and ability of future border guard officers to apply information and analytical knowledge, their abilities, skills and personal qualities while processing information of various types and forms of presentation; ability to search for, evaluate, store, analyze, issue and disseminate important information in order to obtain qualitatively new knowledge necessary for decision-making in their professional activity. The structure of the information and analytical competence is the unity of four components, in particular, a value and motivational component, a cognitive and operative component, an activity component and a subjective one. The content of training is improved on the basis of the learner-oriented approach. The model that consists of organizational, practical and resultative blocks has been developed. The article deals with the issues of implementing the use of information and communication technologies in the course of foreign language training for future border guard officers as one of the pedagogical conditions of forming the information and analytical competence. The advantages of usage of new information and communication technologies in the self-study activity of cadets of higher military educational institutions is considered. The article highlights the importance of the self-study of future border guard officers in the process of formation of the information and analytical competence. The author states the main functions of the self-study activity in the course of foreign language learning. The teacher role in managing the self-study of cadets is stated. The advantages of usage of electronic textbooks are considered. The author presented interactive exercises and tasks from the electronic textbook. The lead-in is conducted to draw cadets’ attention to the topic of discussion. Different types of tasks before/while and after reading or watching the materials are performed. These tasks and exercises in their turn foster forming the information and analytical competence of future border guard officers.
The implementation of self-study under the condition of introducing new information and communication technologies in the process of foreign language training contributes to the self-reliance formation of future border-guard officers, their activity and initiative in studies. The use of information and communication technologies in the self-study management provides control and self-control of independent cognitive activities, develops the creative orientation of cognitive activities of future border-guard officers, and motivates them to perform their tasks while processing foreign language sources in order to form their own assessment of processes and phenomena.
Problem-based learning (PBL) is one among several approaches to active learning. Being a teacher in a PBL environment can, however, be a challenge because of the need to support students' learning ...within a broad 'landscape of learning'. In this article we will analyse the landscape of learning by use of the study activity model (SAM) developed by the Danish University Colleges, with the aim of investigating to which extent this may lead to explication and clarification concerning the challenges faced by teachers in a PBL environment. In the case study, the SAM is applied to the first semester of an engineering programme at Aalborg University, a university setting where the PBL approach to teaching and learning is dominant. The results of the analysis are presented and discussed, and the conclusion is that the model, in spite of some shortcomings, is useful in clarifying the role of the teacher in a PBL environment.
The article is intended to cover the new strategies to individual activity of students dealing with the self-management of study process organization providing quality higher education, strengthening ...mobility for better learning in the framework of competence/learning outcome-based, student-centered approaches to learning, teaching and assessment. It presents the main competences of individual activity throughout students’ careers, major tasks and trends of individual activity, essential criteria for individual work assessment and modern teaching technologies.

In this work we focused on the therapeutic effects and use of selected species of medicinal plants as one of the ways to bring acquired knowledge in extra-curricular activities to primary school ...pupils. The theoretical part of the study dealt with the classification of selected plant species - common selfheal (Prunella vulgaris L.), spring pheasant’s eye (Adonis vernalis L.), great yellow gentian (Gentiana lutea L.), jointfir (Ephedra distachya L.), oregano (Origanum vulgare L.), spring primrose (Primula veris L.), German chamomile (Matricaria recutita L.), sage (Salvia officinalis L.) and Siberian ginseng (Eleutherococcus senticosus (Rupr. et Maxim.) Maxim.). A practical questionnaire was used on 70 high school students, and 25 university students, to obtain and evaluate data that related to the basic knowledge and awareness of medicinal plants, and the development of study circles as an extra-curricular activity to provide information on medicinal herbs and their healing effects.
