This study investigated the impact of social networks on students' teaching experiences in the Postgraduate Professional Diploma in Teaching Program at Al-Ain University, UAE. Using a descriptive ...approach, 182 male and female student-teachers were surveyed during the 2022/2023 first semester. The research employed a questionnaire and SPSS software for data analysis. The findings revealed that student-teachers consider social networks vital for enhancing the teaching program, heavily relying on social media platforms in their teaching processes. Notably, there were no significant differences in perceptions based on experience and qualification, likely due to a uniform pre-service training program. The study recommends integrating social networking sites into education and educating student-teachers about their benefits in teaching and education.
Based on the results of several projects carried out with children and adolescents, we can state that knowledge of production and broadcasting aids the acquisition of critical media skills. This ...article combines three media education experiences in Venezuela, Colombia and Spain driven by a critical reception approach. It presents leading indicators for determining the level of critical audiovisual reading in children aged 8-12 extracted from intervention processes through workshops on media literacy. The groups had been instructed on the audiovisual universe, which allowed them to analyze, deconstruct and recreate audiovisual content. Firstly, this article refers to the evolving concept of media education. Secondly, the common experiences in the three countries are described, with special attention to the influence of indicators that gauge the level of critical reading. Finally, we reflect on the need for media education in the era of multi-literacy. It is unusual to find studies that reveal the keys to assessing the levels of critical consumption of digital media content in children, and this is essential for determining the level of children's understanding before and after training processes in media education.
Throughout the 20th Century, French architecture had a marked increase in Mexico, especially at the dawn of the century. Even at the end of the 19th Century the influence exerted by theoretical texts and the study systems of the École des Beaux-Arts had been felt and at the start of the new century a good number of architects arrived to work in the country. To analyze the architectural relationship between these two countries, at a crucial moment in their histories, clarifies the influences that derived from them in the national architectural context.

While living in a digital era, both teachers and students of Engineering Courses were not ready for the drastic change associated with the Covid-19 first confinement (March 2020). This forced change ...from a presential mode to a fully online mode provided teaching/leaning difficulties as well as new opportunities. Moreover, as most engineering courses require laboratory practice, on-line teaching raised additional challenges. This paper reports two different experiences in two different Control Engineering university courses in the North of Portugal. The goal is to share some learning tools that are particularly relevant in the pandemic time we are living: pocket-sized laboratory kits that students can easily take home and experience real-world control contents; an open Mural that can serve as an exchange of knowledge. Perceptions received both from students and lecturers regarding these two experiments are presented.

Projects to promote an entrepreneurial culture have enabled a group of teachers to bring entrepreneurship training to the classroom in the field of higher education. After several editions of these ...projects, the connection with some sustainable development goals is perceived. Sustainable entrepreneurship will be the framework that will make possible the training of students in the three dimensions that imply sustainability: environmental protection, the economic component and the social component. The results show the poor training of engineering students in the economic and social dimension of sustainability.

With the leverage of funding and academia-industry partnership for broader impact and student success, Miami Dade College created new educational pathways in cloud computing, which are unique in its ...state. The Dade Enterprise Cloud Computing Initiative provides students with project-based learning opportunities and access to leading cloud technology, giving them a competitive advantage by strengthening academic offerings that lead to not only an academic credential, but also industry certifications to meet the workforce demand. In this Work-In-Progress paper, we highlight the key findings specifically related to teaching the cloud courses from a focus group with the faculty members.

In undergraduate studies, the subject corresponding to the end-of-degree project is an academic activity that allows the competences acquired by students during their training period to be assessed ...in detail. This paper shows the experience of an end-of-degree project linked to an ongoing research project as a viable and feasible solution to stimulate students in the Industrial Electronic Engineering Degree. The results show that students perceive this proposal as an opportunity to train in a current topic with professional projection.
Several studies have raised the issue of the adoption of model-driven engineering (MDE) in industry. We can find there, for example, the lack of mature tools and the lack of employee training. In ...this paper, we present a summary of 20 years of experience in MDE and how our vision has evolved through all these years. We present our view of an effective approach for a better application of MDE which answers to some of the issues raised. This approach is supported by a set of integrated tools that facilitate not only the learning of MDE but also its implementation. We also discuss some of the results of adopting this approach in university software engineering courses and its use in real software development projects.
