A critical edition of several versions of the Alexander romance in the medieval French literature, edited by a French philologist Paul Meyer (1840–1917), followed by a history of Alexander’s legend in the French and other Romance literatures by the same author. Meyer is considered one of the founders of the modern French philology. Kritičko izdanje nekoliko verzija Romana o Aleksandru u francuskoj srednjovekovnoj književnosti, koje je priredio francuski filolog Pol Mejer (1840–1917), praćeno istorijom legende o Aleksandru u francuskoj i drugim romanskim književnostima od istog autora. Mejer se smatra za jednog od utemeljivača moderne francuske filologije.
