  • Base temperature and cooling degree days [Elektronski vir]

    The concept of degree days is a tool to assess and analyze weather related energy consumption in buildings. This method can be applied to heatingand cooling systems, therefore one could obtain ... heating and cooling degree days. Essentially this method comprises a summation of the difference between the outdoor and some reference or base temperature over a specific time interval. One of the problems applying this method is the definition of base temperature, which relates to the energy consumption. Second important factor is the selection of method for calculating the degree days. While this method is well established for calculating the heating degree days, the method for calculating the cooling degree days is not so straight forward. In this paper the analysis of real data and comparison between different methods are shown.
