    For matching foot data an interior scan of shoes is required. In spite of several methods applicable there are only few that are accurate, flexible and reasonably fast for scanning entire ... collections. Paper presents an applicationfor parametric silhouette extraction from X-ray scans. To assure reliable interior recognition, watershed with region growing is applied and gradient vector field (GVF) is computed from edge processed scan. Resulting parametric curve is obtained via snake active contour with the initialization ellipsis, computed from watershed region of interest (ROI).
