  • Rheological properties of compatibilized TPU/SAN blends

    ǂThe ǂrheological properties of compatibilised thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU) and styrene/acrylonitrile (SAN) blends were investigated. Dynamic-mechanical analysis showed that the addition of ... different compatibilisers improves the properties of TPU/SAN blends. Homopolymers PC1 has stronger compatibilisation activity than mixtures of block copolymers also added as possible compatibilisers. Therefore the dependency of loss and storage shear modulus (G", G') and creep recovery on added compatibilisers PC1 was investigated in details. It was found that added compatibiliser causes the increasing of G" and G' at an identical frequency range and decreasing of recovery time. That is in agreement with smaller particles of distributed phase in the compatibilised blend.
