  • Competitive advantages of region and city developments in Hungary and Slovenia [Elektronski vir]

    With the accession of the new EU members states, these countries, together with their cities and regions, are facing the increase in competitiveness, high unemployment, needs for reconstruction, and ... low quality of life. Some cities have managed to adjust to these trends, others still have plenty to do in this area to assure competitive advantages. In this contribution, we will focus on the most important indicators, those that are significant for the region or city efficiencies. We will use them for a comparison between the Hungarian region Baranya and the city Pécs, as well as between the Slovenian region Podravje and the city of Maribor.
