  • Kožne bolezni, povezane s soncem = Sunlight induced skin disorders
    Rogl-Butina, Mirjam ; Bartenjev, Igor
The sunlight which reaches the Earth's surface is composed of the ultraviolet, the visible and part of the infra red spectrum of electromagnetic waves. The most important for changes in the skin are ... ultraviolet rays, and the special branch of medicine dealing with these relationships is called photomedicine. In this article we deal with photodermatoses - diseases, where sunlight is the only or a very important etiopathogenetic factor. They are divided according to the time interval between sun exposure and the onset of askin disorder in the acute form, the chronic form, or those disorders where changes partly develop soon after the exposure and partly later, over the years. As regards the scope of this meeting, we will speak mostly about acute reactions to sunlight: sunburn, photosensitivity reactions (photoallergic and phototoxic reactions), polymorphic light eruption and hydroa vacciniforme. At the end, the basic diagnostic procedures are mentioned, with warnings about adequate sun protection measures.
