  • Glavobol pri poškodbi glave = Headache in patients with cranial trauma
    Meglič, Bernard
Headache is a common, but not the most important symptom in patients with acute cranial trauma, the symptoms and signs of cerebral dysfunction are much more important. In the short period of lucidity ... interval following cranial trauma, headache is one of the symptoms of increased intracranial pressure. Chronic subdural hematoma is the commonest chronic state of cranial trauma, whereby headache results from elevated intracranial pressure. In the period after mild cranial trauma, 30-7U% of patients develop post-traumatic functional headache, which is mostly a benign state, limited in time. In a minority of patients, headache can evolve into a chronic pain syndrome with associated psychiatric disorders, e. g. depression. Treatments is individual and has to be modified according to the patient's symptoms.
