    In this paper we investigate some qualitative aspects of Multinational Enterprise (MNE) subsidiaries operating in Greece in line with the theories onFDI and the strategic roles of subsidiaries. ... Initially, we discuss the activities of a sample of sixteen MNE subsidiaries operating in Greece in selected manufacturing sectors and we then focus on the food and drink sector as a key industry in the Greek economy. Finally, we examine the evolution of Greek outward FDI in the Balkans and Eastern Europe, emphasising once more thedevelopments in the food and drink sector.
