  • Key players in the enterprise restructuring and structural change in a small open transitional economy

    The aim of the study is to provide an analysis of the existing position and performance of small-and medium-sized enterprises and foreign-investment enterprises. The analysis of the position of SMEs ... and FIEs in the economy is followed by the discussion of economic policies in general and the SMEs and FDI policies especially. The analysis of the statistical data confirmed that among economic agents there exist two key players who perform and operate in such a way that they make important contribution to the restructuring and growth of the economy. These two key players are small- and medium-size enterprises and foreign enterprises. Main variables in this paper are number of enterprises, employment, output, value added, labour productivity, investment, labour costs and export.
