  • D-dimer pri izključevanju venske tromboze - katero metodo uporabiti?

    In Slovenia D-dimer concentration is being determined in practically all general hospital laboratories, mostly as an aid in exclusion of deep-vein thrombosis (VT). The method development started with ... enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (EL1SA), followed by quick agglutination methods and finally automated immunoturbidimetric methods. The latter have not yet been fully evaluated in clinical studies. The aim of our study was to asses diagnostic performance of D-dimer determined with three different immunoturbidimetric methods. We found good diagnostic characteristics for method A (sensitivity 100% and specificity 59%) and method C (sensitivity 100%and specificity 60%) that were comparable to the reference method (sensitivity 100% and specificity 73%). Although D-dimer determined with method B reliably excluded VT (sensitivity 100% and specificity 22%), it only in small degree attributed to VT diagnosis, since D-dimer was elevated also inthe majority of patients without VT.
