    The purpose of the analysis is to examine the impact of the financial crisis on the performance of Slovenian banks. The study has shown that the volume of non-performing loans and consequently formed ... impairments in state-owned banks has increased more than in privately owned banks during the period 2008-2012. Significant differences in banks performance, measured by financial ratios, came to light only after 2010, when the financial crisis began to significantly affect on the banks operations. Consequently the hypothesis, that banks with lower capital adequacy reduced credit volume more than banks with higher capital adequacy, can not be confirmed before 2010.
