  • Internal oxidation of Cu-Te alloy = Notranja oksidacije zlitine Cu-Te

    Cu-Te alloy has been oxidized at two different temperatures in the oxygen atmosphere. Tellurium has been observed in from of the tellurium inclusions and very small amount of it was dissolved. By ... thermodynamical calculation the most probable reactions of the Cu-Te-O system have been determined. Oxidized samples have been investigated by optical and electron (SEM) microscopy. It was determined thermodynamically that the most probable reactions in the copper matrix are copper oxidation from inclusions at simultaneous dissolution of tellurium and the decomposition of the telluride inclusions into copper and tellurium. Results of the Cu-Te alloy oxidation showed that the internal oxidation of telluride inclusions has been taking place by forming of the copper oxide on the inclusions place, which formed the eutectic phase by the copper telluride. Tellurium was dissolved in copper and was diffusion from the sample.
