  • Register bolnikov z boleznimi srca in žilja - manjkajoči člen? = Registry of the patients with cardiovascular diseases - missing element?

    Monitoring burden of cardiovascular diseases (CVDs) has recently become one ofthe most important public health activities in many countries, especially indeveloped ones. In these countries, including ... Slovenia, CVDs represent the most frequent cause of mortality, and consequently creates the greatest publichealth problem. In most cases the deaths caused by CVDs are registered and mortality trends observed. In many countries prevalence and incidence of various CVDs events or even risk factors for them are observed as well. In Slovenia for decades deaths causes are registered. In the frame of Nationwide Slovene Program on Primary Cardiovascular Diseases Prevention, which started in 2001, risk factors for CVDs are registered as well. Due to temporal trends and lack of registration of CVDs events in Slovenia we discuss the feasibilityfor establishing that kind of registry.
