    At this moment, closure activities of 6 mines, 3 of them being metal mines and 3 coal mines, are taking place. A program of closure has been prepared for each of these mines. The program of comprises ... all the necessary closure and rehabilition measures, coverage of expenses of possible mine damage, observations, measurements and research. All those items are assessed in the program. This formed the base for the cost estimate for a total and permanent closure of a mine. The program of closure activities forms the base for passing a law which will present the foundation for financing closure activities out of the national budget. The type and the quantity of closure activities and of rehabilitation measures are adapted to the circumstances and needs of each mine and they differ from mine to mine. The basic principlesof preservation of life on the permanent basis, of protection of health f people and animals and of being friendly to the environment are takeninto account. Together with the formation of the program of closure and rehabilitation activities, the possibility of using the mine for other purposes, i.e. of restructuring mining activities within the area of buildings and the territory of a disused mine.
