    The article examines the military, political and social situation in the AustroHungarian Monarchy during the final year of the Great War, and explains the circumstances surrounding the creation of ... the State of Slovenes, Croats and Serbs. The authors focus in particular on the analysis of the military situation in the Slovenian territory after the end of the First World War. The new authorities of the State of Slovenes, Croats and Serbs had to face the disorganised withdrawal of the AustroHungarian army from the Italian Front and the Italian army%s occupation of part of the Slovenian territory.
