    Background. Mechanisms of osteochondral (OH) fractures of the knee caused by shearing forces between the femur and tibia due to indirect violence have received little attention in the literature so ... far. We present a patient whose fractured OH fragment was reduced and fixed using our original arthroscopic technique. It provides exact reposition and reliable fixation evenof smaller fragments, and thereby prevents the development of degnerative arthritis and problems related to the presence of loose bodies in the joint. Conclusion. Mechanical stabilisation of an OH injury in an acceptable positionincreases the likelihood of satisfactory healing by restoring congruity of the articular cartilage.
