    Randall R. Currenćs book entitled Aristotle on the Necessity of Public Education (New York: Rowman & Littlefield, 2000, 278p.), constitutes what we might term a re-reading or, as the author puts it, ... a reconstruction of Aristotelian views on education and its relationship to public life. At the same time, the work aims to highlight the significance public education had for Aristotle, as part of the heated debate on educational options and school quality and curriculum. Above all, Curren's study is an attempt to interpret Aristotelian views, both within the context of Ancient Philosophy and in termsof political, legal and educational thought.
