Abstract
The Community Learning Center is a non-formal education program that aims to expand the reach of education in the community by involving community participation. Environmental education is ...one of the materials given to students in this centre. This can be an opportunity to increase community disaster awareness especially in relation to floods disaster that often occur in the area. The purpose of this paper is to find out: (1) Strategies to increase the role of community learning centre in improving disaster awareness through environmental education, (2) Environmental education that can be utilized in increasing disaster awareness in community learning centre in East Jakarta, (3) Factors supporting and inhibiting strategies for improving disaster awareness through environmental education at community learning centre.
This article describes community resilience in disaster survivors in Yogyakarta Province. Model of community resilience applied in Cangkringan, an affected districts by the Merapi eruption disaster ...in 2010. The aims of this research are, first, to clarify the definition of community resilience in disaster studies; second, to understand how the community resilience process in affected people, and finally to interpret the disaster as a 'window of opportunity' for sustainable trajectories. Participants were drawn from the inhabitants of Cangkringan districts Yogyakarta Province. It illustrates the concept model of 'community resilience', which is widely explored from community perspectives. This research also seeks to understand how the community resilience process can be enacted in alternative social practices. It found that number of themes emerged in community resilience integrated model includes partnership and institutional, education and engagement, available resources (personal and culture values, psychological strength), also risk and vulnerability groups in society.
Short-range correlated (SRC) nucleon pairs are a vital part of the nucleus, accounting for almost all nucleons with momentum greater than the Fermi momentum (k_{F}). A fundamental characteristic of ...SRC pairs is having large relative momenta as compared to k_{F}, and smaller center of mass (c.m.) which indicates a small separation distance between the nucleons in the pair. Determining the c.m. momentum distribution of SRC pairs is essential for understanding their formation process. We report here on the extraction of the c.m. motion of proton-proton (pp) SRC pairs in carbon and, for the first time in heavier and ansymetric nuclei: aluminum, iron, and lead, from measurements of the A(e,e^{'}pp) reaction. We find that the pair c.m. motion for these nuclei can be described by a three-dimensional Gaussian with a narrow width ranging from 140 to 170 MeV/c, approximately consistent with the sum of two mean-field nucleon momenta. Comparison with calculations appears to show that the SRC pairs are formed from mean-field nucleons in specific quantum states.
The visible world is founded on the proton, the only composite building block of matter that is stable in nature. Consequently, understanding the formation of matter relies on explaining the dynamics ...and the properties of the proton's bound state. A fundamental property of the proton involves the response of the system to an external electromagnetic field. It is characterized by the electromagnetic polarizabilities
that describe how easily the charge and magnetization distributions inside the system are distorted by the electromagnetic field. Moreover, the generalized polarizabilities
map out the resulting deformation of the densities in a proton subject to an electromagnetic field. They disclose essential information about the underlying system dynamics and provide a key for decoding the proton structure in terms of the theory of the strong interaction that binds its elementary quark and gluon constituents. Of particular interest is a puzzle in the electric generalized polarizability of the proton that remains unresolved for two decades
. Here we report measurements of the proton's electromagnetic generalized polarizabilities at low four-momentum transfer squared. We show evidence of an anomaly to the behaviour of the proton's electric generalized polarizability that contradicts the predictions of nuclear theory and derive its signature in the spatial distribution of the induced polarization in the proton. The reported measurements suggest the presence of a new, not-yet-understood dynamical mechanism in the proton and present notable challenges to the nuclear theory.
The polarized cross-section ratio σ_{LT^{'}}/σ_{0} from hard exclusive π^{-}Δ^{++} electroproduction off an unpolarized hydrogen target has been extracted based on beam-spin asymmetry measurements ...using a 10.2 GeV/10.6 GeV incident electron beam and the CLAS12 spectrometer at Jefferson Lab. The study, which provides the first observation of this channel in the deep-inelastic regime, focuses on very forward-pion kinematics in the valence regime, and photon virtualities ranging from 1.5 GeV^{2} up to 7 GeV^{2}. The reaction provides a novel access to the d-quark content of the nucleon and to p→Δ^{++} transition generalized parton distributions. A comparison to existing results for hard exclusive π^{+}n and π^{0}p electroproduction is provided, which shows a clear impact of the excitation mechanism, encoded in transition generalized parton distributions, on the asymmetry.
We report results of Λ hyperon production in semi-inclusive deep-inelastic scattering off deuterium, carbon, iron, and lead targets obtained with the CLAS detector and the Continuous Electron Beam ...Accelerator Facility 5.014 GeV electron beam. These results represent the first measurements of the Λ multiplicity ratio and transverse momentum broadening as a function of the energy fraction (z) in the current and target fragmentation regions. The multiplicity ratio exhibits a strong suppression at high z and an enhancement at low z. The measured transverse momentum broadening is an order of magnitude greater than that seen for light mesons. This indicates that the propagating entity interacts very strongly with the nuclear medium, which suggests that propagation of diquark configurations in the nuclear medium takes place at least part of the time, even at high z. The trends of these results are qualitatively described by the Giessen Boltzmann-Uehling-Uhlenbeck transport model, particularly for the multiplicity ratios. These observations will potentially open a new era of studies of the structure of the nucleon as well as of strange baryons.
We report the first beam-target double-polarization asymmetries in the γ+n(p)→π^{-}+p(p) reaction spanning the nucleon resonance region from invariant mass W=1500 to 2300 MeV. Circularly polarized ...photons and longitudinally polarized deuterons in solid hydrogen deuteride (HD) have been used with the CEBAF Large Acceptance Spectrometer (CLAS) at Jefferson Lab. The exclusive final state has been extracted using three very different analyses that show excellent agreement, and these have been used to deduce the E polarization observable for an effective neutron target. These results have been incorporated into new partial wave analyses and have led to significant revisions for several γnN^{*} resonance photocouplings.
We examine the transmission mechanisms through which foreign trades affect commonality in liquidity in an emerging stock market. Trade-level data from the Indonesian Stock Exchange allow us to ...examine the impact of aggressive foreign trades on commonality in liquidity. Our results show that these trades contribute significantly to the price discovery process as well as to increasing commonality in liquidity. We find that the price discovery impact of aggressive foreign trading provides the mechanism through which foreign investor trading affects emerging market liquidity dynamics. Overall, our study shows that foreign investor trading is a double-edged sword.

This study aims to design a buoy using an electric motor as a driver to maintain the position based on the coordinates of the Global Positioning System (GPS) that has been determined. This control ...system is designed to replace the existing buoy system, namely a buoy using a chain to maintain its position. The method used in the study is an electric motor control method using a microcontroller with GPS coordinates as the return point (home coordinates). The solar cell system that connected to the battery is used as a source of energy for the buoy control system. The result of this device is the distance between the return point and the stop point of less than 12 meters.
