The data sample corresponds to an integrated luminosity of 1.6 nb super(-1). The nucleon-nucleon centre-of-mass energy of the pPb collisions is ... TeV. The measurement is performed using psi (2S) mesons with transverse momentum less than 14 GeV/c and rapidity y in the ranges 1.5 < y < 4.0 and -5.0 < y < -2.5 in the nucleon-nucleon centre-of-mass system. The forward-backward production ratio and the nuclear modification factor are determined for psi (2S) mesons. Using the production cross-section results of psi (2S) and J/ psi mesons from b-hadron decays, the ... cross-section in pPb collisions at ... TeV is obtained. Figure not available: see fulltext.
The B sub(s) super(0) arrow right J/ psi decay is observed in pp collision data corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 3 fb super(-1) recorded by the LHCb detector at centre-of-mass energies of ...7 TeV and 8 TeV. This is the first observation of this decay channel, with a statistical significance of 15 standard deviations. The mass of the B sub(s) super(0) meson is measured to be 5367.08 plus or minus 0.38 plus or minus 0.15 MeV/c super(2). The branching fraction ratio (B sub(s) super(0) arrow right J/ psi )/(B sub(s) super(0) arrow right J/ psi ) is measured to be 0.0115 plus or minus 0.0012 sub(-0.0009) super(+0.0005). In both cases, the first uncertainty is statistical and the second is systematic. No evidence for non-resonant B sub(s) super(0) arrow right J/ psi K super(+) K super(-) or B sub(s) super(0) arrow right J/ psi K super(+) K super(-) K super(+) K super(-) decays is found. Figure not available: see fulltext.
The relative abundance of the three decay modes $B_d \to D^- K^+$, $B_d \to D^- \pi^+$ and $B_s \to D_s^- \pi^+$ produced in 7 TeV $pp$ collisions at the LHC is determined from data corresponding to ...an integrated luminosity of 35 pb$^{-1}$. The branching fraction of $B_d \to D^- K^+$ is found to be $\cal B (B_d \to D^- K^+) = (2.01 \pm 0.18^{\textrm{stat}} \pm 0.14^{\textrm{syst}})\times 10^{-4}$. The ratio of fragmentation fractions \fsfdt is determined through the relative abundance of $B_s \to D_s^- \pi^+$ to $B_d \to D^- K^+$ and $B_d \to D^-\pi^+$, leading to $f_s/f_d = 0.253 \pm 0.017 \pm 0.017 \pm 0.020$, where the uncertainties are statistical, systematic, and theoretical respectively.
