A series of novel flexible polymer composites consisted of boron nitride foam (BNF), boron nitride nanosheets (BNNS) and polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS) were designed and fabricated by vacuum-assisted ...infiltrating BNNS/PDMS mixtures into 3D BNF synthesized via chemical vapor deposition (CVD). Their microstructure, thermal, mechanical and dielectric properties were studied. Contributed to the interconnected networks of BNF and synergistic effect of BNNS with BNF, 10wt% BNNS/BNF/PDMS composite shows a high thermal conductivity of 0.56Wm−1K−1, high heat resistance index of 275.6°C, 33% increment of Young’s modulus compared to PDMS, relative permittivity of 3, dissipation factor of 0.0051, EMI shielding effectiveness of 1.5dB at X band and breakdown strength of 21.8MV/m. Due to the outstanding comprehensive properties, BNNS/BNF/PDMS composites have a promising potential application in wide electronic packaging field.
Long noncoding RNAs (lncRNAs) have been confirmed to be aberrantly expressed in various diseases including tumors. Recently, a new tumor‐related lncRNA, lncRNA TRPM2 antisense RNA (TRPM2‐AS), was ...shown to be involved in many tumors, such as lung cancer and breast cancer. However, the expression and role of TRPM2‐AS in the development of gastric cancer (GC) have not been elucidated. In the current study, we provided evidence that the expression levels of TRPM2‐AS were increased in both GC tissues and cell lines. We also showed that overexpression of TRPM2‐AS was modulated by ELK1, a transcription factor. The results of clinical assays showed that higher expressions of TRPM2‐AS were significantly related with invasion depth, TNM stage, lymphatic metastasis, and shorter overall survival. Further clinical assays using multivariate analysis suggested that TRPM2‐AS expression was an independent prognostic factor in patients with GC. Functional experiments illustrated that depression of TRPM2‐AS suppressed proliferation, migration, and invasion in GC cells. In terms of mechanism, we found that TRPM2‐AS directly inhibited miR‐195, which targeted the 3′‐untranslated region of high‐mobility group AT‐hook 1 (HMGA1) messenger RNA. Overall, these findings revealed that ELK1‐induced overexpression of TRPM2‐AS promoted the development and progression of GC in part through miR‐195/HMGA1 signaling axis, and established its candidacy as a new cancer biomarker for GC patients.

Convolutional neural networks (CNNs) have been widely deployed in the fields of computer vision and pattern recognition because of their high accuracy. However, large convolution operations are ...computing intensive and often require a powerful computing platform such as a graphics processing unit. This makes it difficult to apply CNNs to portable devices. The state-of-the-art CNNs, such as MobileNetV2 and Xception, adopt depthwise separable convolution to replace the standard convolution for embedded platforms, which significantly reduces operations and parameters with only limited loss in accuracy. This highly structured model is very suitable for field-programmable gate array (FPGA) implementation. In this brief, a scalable high performance depthwise separable convolution optimized CNN accelerator is proposed. The accelerator can be fit into an FPGA of different sizes, provided the balancing between hardware resources and processing speed. As an example, MobileNetV2 is implemented on Arria 10 SoC FPGA, and the results show this accelerator can classify each picture from ImageNet in 3.75 ms, which is about 266.6 frames per second. The FPGA design achieves 20x speedup if compared to CPU.
Rosa laevigata Michx., a medicinal and edible plant in China, has exerted a variety of medicinal values and health benefits. This present review aims to achieve a comprehensive and up-to-date ...investigation in the phytochemistry and pharmacology of R. laevigata. According to these findings in the literature, approximately 123 chemical ingredients covering triterpenoids, flavonoids, tannis, lignans and polysaccharides, have been characterized from various parts of this species. Among these isolates, 77 triterpenoids have been isolated and thus regarded as the primary and characteristic substance. Based on the chemical structures, most of the obtained triterpenoids can be classified into polyhydroxy triterpenoids and readily divided into four categories: ursane-type, oleanane-type, lupinane-type, as well as seco-triterpenoids. The crude extracts and the purified compounds have demonstrated various pharmacological effects in vitro and in vivo, such as antioxidant activity, immunomodulatory effect, anti-inflammatory effect, liver protection, kidney protection, cardiovascular protection, neuroprotective effect and improvement of diabetic cataract. Noticeably, these pharmacological results of R. laevigata provide evidences for its traditional uses. In addition, these different chemical ingredients existing in the title plant may have synergistic effects. In conclusion, the chemical profiles, including ingredients and structures, together with the modern pharmacological properties have been adequately summarized. These evidences have revealed this plant to be a valuable source for therapeutic foodstuff and more attention should be paid to a better utilization of this plant.

Enhancing soil organic carbon (SOC) sequestration and food supply are vital for human survival when facing climate change. Site‐specific best management practices (BMPs) are being promoted for ...adoption globally as solutions. However, how SOC and crop yield are related to each other in responding to BMPs remains unknown. Here, path analysis based on meta‐analysis and machine learning was conducted to identify the effects and potential mechanisms of how the relationship between SOC and crop yield responds to site‐specific BMPs in China. The results showed that BMPs could significantly enhance SOC and maintain or increase crop yield. The maximum benefits in SOC (30.6%) and crop yield (79.8%) occurred in mineral fertilizer combined with organic inputs (MOF). Specifically, the optimal SOC and crop yield would be achieved when the areas were arid, soil pH was ≥7.3, initial SOC content was ≤10 g kg−1, duration was >10 years, and the nitrogen (N) input level was 100–200 kg ha−1. Further analysis revealed that the original SOC level and crop yield change showed an inverted V‐shaped structure. The association between the changes in SOC and crop yield might be linked to the positive role of the nutrient‐mediated effect. The results generally suggested that improving the SOC can strongly support better crop performance. Limitations in increasing crop yield still exist due to low original SOC level, and in regions where the excessive N inputs, inappropriate tillage or organic input is inadequate and could be diminished by optimizing BMPs in harmony with site‐specific conditions.

Heat management is more and more crucial challenge since the development of modern electronic devices towards miniaturization and high dense integrity. Highly thermal conductive composites based on ...graphene are ideal heat-dissipating materials for their excellent heat dissipation ability, outstanding mechanical properties as well as low coefficient of thermal expansion. Numerous efforts have been made towards the development of graphene-based polymeric composites with high performance. Furthermore, it has been demonstrated that microstructure engineering of graphene-based construction of three-dimensional networks and high orientation is extremely important to improve the properties of composites. In this review, the research progress on the latest strategies of microstructure engineering of graphene for highly thermal conductive composites is summarized. Both fabrication methods and theoretical simulations are discussed. Finally, development and perspectives of highly thermal conductive composites are presented.
Covalent‐organic frameworks (COFs) have been recognized as a new type of promising photocatalysts for hydrogen evolution. To investigate how different functional groups attached in the backbone of ...COFs affect the overall photocatalytic H2 evolution, for the first time, we selected and synthesized a series of ketoenamine‐based COFs with the same host framework as model system. It includes TpPa−COF−X (X=−H, −(CH3)2, and −NO2) with three different groups attached in the backbone of TpPa−COF. We systematically investigated the differences in morphology, light‐absorption intensity and band gap of these 2D COFs. The results of photocatalytic H2 evolution measurements indicate that the TpPa−COF−(CH3)2 shows the best activity, while the activity of TpPa−COF−NO2 is relatively low compared to that of other two COFs in the system. Moreover, the separation ability of photogenerated charge was also followed the order of TpPa−COF−(CH3)2>TpPa−COF>TpPa−COF−NO2. The best photocatalytic H2 production performance of TpPa−COF−(CH3)2 in these systems should be mainly attributed to the better electron‐donating ability of −CH3 groups compared to −H or −NO2 group, which result in more efficient charge transferring in the inner of the material. This work demonstrates that reasonably adding electron‐donating group in TpPa−COFs can lead to a better photocatalytic H2 evolution activity, and which is meaningful for further design of efficient COF‐based photocatalysts for H2 evolution.
Photocatalysis: A series ketoenamine‐based COFs of TpPa−COF−X (X=−H, −(CH3)2, and −NO2) exhibit significant difference on the visible light absorbance and efficiency of photocatalytic H2 evolution, which can be attributed to strengthen charge carrier mobilities both in‐plane and in the stacking direction because of the electron‐donating groups.

. How EMC accomplishes this feat has been unclear. Here we report the first, to our knowledge, cryo-electron microscopy structure of the eukaryotic EMC. We found that the Saccharomyces cerevisiae EMC contains eight subunits (Emc1-6, Emc7 and Emc10), has a large lumenal region and a smaller cytosolic region, and has a transmembrane region formed by Emc4, Emc5 and Emc6 plus the transmembrane domains of Emc1 and Emc3. We identified a five-TMH fold centred around Emc3 that resembles the prokaryotic YidC insertase and that delineates a largely hydrophilic client protein pocket. The transmembrane domain of Emc4 tilts away from the main transmembrane region of EMC and is partially mobile. Mutational studies demonstrated that the flexibility of Emc4 and the hydrophilicity of the client pocket are required for EMC function. The EMC structure reveals notable evolutionary conservation with the prokaryotic insertases
, suggests that eukaryotic TMH insertion involves a similar mechanism, and provides a framework for detailed understanding of membrane insertion for numerous eukaryotic integral membrane proteins and tail-anchored proteins.
